On October 19, music lovers celebrated the 60th birthday of the late Jamaican Vocalist, Frankie Paul. Having made his transition in 2017, Paul was one of the go-to Singers in Dancehall and Reggae. Dubbed the “Jamaican Stevie Wonder” due to visual impairment, but a brilliant talent as a Singer, he became a star since his younger days, piling on hits, singles, and albums in his solid career. Today, we remember his exceptional talent, but also his knack for knocking out a Cover Song. Tune in to our new Playlist, “Cover Kings Vol. 3 – Frankie Paul“.

With the new “Cover Kings” Playlist, we highlight some of the many cover songs Frankie Paul released over the years. From covering Guy, Lionel Richie, Loose Ends, Bobby Brown, to covering fellow Jamaican Artists Dennis Brown and John Holt, Paul was a 1 of 1 talent. We Pay Tribute To The Late Junior Byles With Our Latest Playlist

On May 15, 2025, we learned that Roots Reggae Artist Kenneth Byles, more popularly known as Junior Byles, made his transition to the big Sound Stage in the Afterlife. The Singer gave the world a number of great songs, but was not able to maintain his career due to his declining Mental Health over the years. While there were glimmers of hope and times where he given help, they were all short-lived as other issues developed. Today, we remember his greatness with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Junior Byles“.

For over two hours, you can tune in to some of Junior Byles’ hits being sampled and covered in the “Sampling Junior Byles” Playlist. His classic “Fade Away” single is featured, along with contributions from the likes of Kabaka Pyramid, Little John, Rodney P, Sizzla, Cocoa Tea, Rebel MC, and more. Byles has inspired and influenced many over the years, and may his situation bring more awareness to Mental Health in Jamaica as it being “Mental Health Awareness Month“. On April 11, the world lost another legend. The news of Reggae Icon Max Romeo’s passing was definitely a shock to many, and tributes were quickly made public. Since the 1960s, Romeo defined an era where he delivered songs that stood out from the pack, with lyrics that have inspired generations of Artists, and caused bans and censorships. He became a dominant force, and he never backed down from whatever or whoever stood in the way. He is a legend, will be missed by many, and his legacy will be carried on by his children, and those who have joined his movement. We pay tribute to him with our latest Playlist, “Sampling Max Romeo“.

Featuring a few tracks, we showcase not only some of Max Romeo’s works, but Artists in Hip Hop, Pop, EDM, and Reggae who have sampled his music on the “Sampling Max Romeo” Playlist. Many of us know Jay Z’s “Lucifer” that sampled “Chase The Devil“, but we’re using this time to highlight even more. On March 11, Jamaican music lost another legend. Renowned Recording Artist Cocoa Tea passed away, leaving many in mourning. The Man from Rocky Point, Clarendon was the Ingredient to many classic Reggae and Dancehall hits, one of the names to call for a Dubplate at a Sound Clash, and he leaves behind a legacy that many will appreciate for generations to come. With many taking the time out to spin many of his hits, we’ve decided to pay tribute to him in another way over here. Today, we present, the “Sampling Cocoa Tea” Playlist.

Cocoa Tea may not have had many of his songs sampled over the years, but there have been a number of Artists and DJs who have shown their appreciation for his music. This Playlist’s runtime is for a little over 2 hours, but you can tune in to music from the late Icon, along with Artists like JPEGMafia, Joss Stone, Arrested Development, Troy Ave, 2Pac, Pendulum, and Pete Rock who have used his works in their creations. Today (January 17), we celebrate the birthday of a giant, a column, and a King of Dancehall, Shabba Ranks. The Man born Rexton Gordon made significant contributions to the genre, with a few extras. Shabba was not only a huge earner for Dancehall Music in the 90s and successfully crossed over to the International market, but was the first Deejay to score GRAMMY awards. He paved the way for a number of Artists, scored a national honour for his work, and is still celebrated today. Today, we recognize his 59th birthday, and celebrate his catalogue with our latest Playlist.

In our “Sampling Shabba Ranks” Playlist, we shed a light on the number of times Dancehall legend Shabba Ranks has been sampled. There was been a number of times from Hip Hop, to Pop, to Electronic Music where the Deejay has been sampled, and we’re taking the time to not only highlight, but educate on how far this Dancehall music has gotten in the world.
