Recently, popular Canadian Media Personality Nardwuar Interviewed the “6 God” Drake, and friend and longtime Producer Noah “40” Shebib. Filmed in Toronto, Canada a.k.a. “The 6ix“, Drake and 40 shared with Nardwuar some aspects of their backgrounds including growing up and 40 and Drake’s first record, “Views“, their influences including the late Rapper Biggie Smalls, Common, the Houston, Toronto, and Memphis Hip Hop scenes, and the Reggae/Dancehall including acts like King Tubby, Mavado, Popcaan, and Vybz Kartel. Drake also mentioned having conversations about Vybz Kartel’s music with fellow Artist PartyNextDoor, and being a fan of King Tubby’s music. It’s an hour long video, so be sure to tune in. PRESS RELEASE: JahZ I Lee Looks Forward To A Shining Career

Ever since he was very young, Munhaire Lee had dreams of becoming a recording artiste. At the launch of his career, the rising star has released two songs, “Love Yours Refix” (Beauty in the Struggle) by J. Cole featuring himself and “Low Me Mek Me Live”. He adopted the moniker JahZ I Lee, a name that reflects his Rastafarian roots, and gives an insight into his style of music. Jah Z I see himself as an artiste painting a picture with his realistic words of wisdom.

“Music is the most viable medium to convey a message. Having an infinite imagination one begins to compose record and perform. If something is repeated, it then becomes a routine, if that routine is loved then it also becomes a passion” expressed JahZ I. Both songs were produced by Michael “Jagga” Barracks, Askelle and Brown Chopz from the Vision House Family, and Mark Cine Enigma. So far, JahZ I has been receiving tremendous feedback from both songs as they are regarded and greatly applauded for their deeply resonating and truly reflective themes.

“My response thus far has exceeded my expectations, there’s always that one fan that will come up to me and tell me how much they enjoy listening to my music. Summer is almost here, and that means road trips, parties, and new clothes. Recently, clothing giant H&M unveiled a new commercial launching their “Forever Summer” campaign. Providing the soundtrack was UK Recording Artist Izzy Bizu who covered Jamaican band Inner Circle’s 1993 single, “Sweat“. The single was featured on the band’s 1992 Grammy winning “Bad To The Bone” album and was a number 1 song in many countries including Ireland, Austria, and Germany. “Sweat” was also sampled by Laza Morgan for “One By One“, and Jamie T’s “If You Got The Money“. PRESS RELEASE: “Life Goes On” For TugStar

Recording artiste TugStar is quite happy with the release of his new single “Life Goes On”, a song recorded on the Street Side Records / Reef Ent. Records produced “Sweet Cone Riddim”. The song features International Dancehall Artiste Jahfus based in Vancouver, who has recorded and performed with the likes of Ray J, Ne-yo and more.

“Life Goes On” sums up some of the trials TugStar has been faced with, but also celebrates the triumphs of the Artiste. “This is just an easy flowing anthem for everyone striving for better while facing obstacles, it’s a song that connects with the soul, so I have no doubt it will connect with the people,” TugStar said.

Tugstar sheds some more light as to why this song came at a perfect time. “”Life Goes On” is the perfect song after the passing of my mentor and founder of Reef Entertainment Records, Wayne Douglas. He succumbed to Cancer in January of this year”. TugStar has been performing “Life Goes On” Internationally as a part of his set and has been receiving a tremendous feedback. “This song is a crowd favourite when I perform it, and the people love the energy between me and Jahfus every time the song comes on”.

TugStar has been opening and sharing the stage Internationally with artist such as QQ, Papa Michigan, Serani and more, while recording a host of singles to be released. He is also working on a Mixtape and his debut album. “Music is my escape and performing for the fans keeps me happy no matter what is going on around me so I just stay busy and keep giving the fans the shows and music they want cause “Life Goes On” and the music never stops.

Something new courtesy of Ras-I, Almando Douglas and Zosia McGregor. Reviving the 1978 classic, “Satisfy My Soul” by Bob Marley, the stage is set for an acoustic performance from the three. With a mellow vibe and soulful delivery from Ras-I, it’s no surprise when there are comparisons to the original “Gong“. With Zosia’s sweet vocals and Douglas’ Guitar performance adding to the track, this calls for lighters flicking and hits from the chalice! Did this satisfy your soul? You know Jamaicans would scoop this up. Comedian/Recording Artist Andrew Trabass teamed up with Dancehall Artist Khaos to deliver the “One Dance Remix” on 4/20! With Sean Alaric adding his Production to this, they give Drake’s hit single a a face lift as they bring the Dancehall tinged single home and added the Jamaican flavour.
