Making badmind retire is Dre Island’s mission today in this new song. Titled “Conqueror” and produced by Jah Snowcone, we hear the artist showing respect to the foundation artists, highlighting that the ghetto youths want to be successful, criticizing politicians, and trying to prosper much more in life. Great effort by the artist, the production also compliments the song well. Looking forward to more by this artist. What do you think? After making headlines recently, Khago was the next artist to make it onto the Onstage set. Here he spoke about his sister who called him out publicly with negative remarks, the negative energy he has received recently, his recent performances, Beenie Man showing him love and helping him out in his career, his issues with management, his album and future projects. Interesting Interview by the artist, he sure spoke his mind on his struggles before making it big, management and providing for his mom. Mixtape Movements: @LornavBennett – This Is Lorna (Mixed By @IamYaadcore)

In celebration of Reggae singer (and Protoje’s mom) Lorna Bennett’s birthday, she released the “mixtape” version of her debut album. Titled “This Is Lorna” and mixed by Rory Yaadcore, this album included her single “Breakfast In Bed” which made her the first female artist to top the Jamaica singles chart for five consecutive weeks. For many who are familiar with her work can reminisce on her hits and new listeners can be educated (and see who Protoje got his talent from). Wonderful listen from a great artist. Today’s new music comes from Jah 9 and Protoje. Titled “Legitimate” and produced by Rory Stone Love, we hear the two Reggae artists dropping conscious lyrics about living life righteously, love, and being positive over a soothing production. OLDIES SUNDAY: Alton Ellis – Willow Tree (1967)

After dropping Raine Seville’s “Willow Tree” yesterday, I felt it was only right to play one of the original songs. Today I feature a song by the late Alton Ellis a.k.a. the GodFather of Rocksteady. Titled “Willow Tree” and produced by Coxsone Records in 1967, this was a cover of Chuck Jackson’s “My Willow Tree” which was done in 1962 but never made it to the music charts. This song is about finding new song all while sparing the “Willow Tree” from sharing the pain of past failed relationships.

While prepping for his big performance at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records “Behind The Screen” series, Jah Cure linked up with Winford Williams on the Onstage set. In this Interview he spoke about his first official performance in Kingston, the “Songs of Redemption” film, his management, his previous album, and his upcoming projects. Jah Cure also previewed the video for his single “That Girl“. Good Interview, I liked that he spoke on management not handling his businesses properly and why his last album wasn’t given the proper promotion.
