As it has been said over the years, Prison caan hold Vybz Kartel’s music and influence. Fresh off celebrating his 45th birthday, Vybz gathers the family for the “Dancehall Royalty EP“!
Consisting of 5 tracks, the EP was released through Short Boss Muzik, which is owned by Vybz Kartel’s partner, Tanesha “Shorty” Johnson. The EP features new music from Vybz, but he boasts features with his sons Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz, his cousin Sikka Rymes, and popular Dancer/Recording Artist Renee 6:30. It’s 2021, and Vybz Kartel has to make sure he’s a part of it. Who can be mad at new music from the “World Boss“?

He may be the “World Boss“, but Vybz Kartel has always been a family man and following in his musical footsteps today are two of his sons. With the help of Short Boss Muzik, Little Vybz (Jaheim) and Little Addi (Raheim) formed the duo PG13 and released their debut single, “Gimmi Di Money“. Here they speak on making money, how they spend it, shouting out their father and promoting “bere goodness“. What do you think of the debut effort from them? Only time will tell if they’ll be as good as their dad. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
No matter where he is, Vybz Kartel has always represented where he’s from and this new single is no different. Titled “Represent Portmore” and produced by Short Boss Muzik, Kartel drops a few punchlines to have your attention, how he lives his life, and makes sure you know that he’s from Portmore over a retro Dancehall riddim. A good one as always from the World Boss and I like that old Dancehall/Reggae riddims are creeping back on the music scene. This week the world will know if Vybz Kartel will either see years in a prison cell, or freedom for the first time in a couple years.
