Marcus Garvey Gets Sampled On @KanyeWest @KidCudi’s “KIDS SEE GHOSTS”!

As promised, Kanye West kicked off a weekly roll out of albums released under the G.O.O.D Music label. This week, he released the long awaited collaborative album, “KIDS SEE GHOSTS” featuring Recording Artist Kid Cudi. While the album featured 7 tracks, there was one that caught many off guard. On track 4 titled “Freeee” a.k.a. “Ghost Town Pt. 2“, it starts off with the words of the late Jamaican Scholar, Activist, Teacher, and National Hero, The Rt. Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Produced by Kanye, vocals from a speech and Interview Garvey was a part of in the early 1920’s about his trial and persecution for Mail Fraud was used in the first few seconds of the track.

Marcus Garvey’s influence and his teachings continue to reach many all over the world. If you wish to know more about this great man, check this out. We Feature The New Kids Of Reggae/Dancehall In Our New Playlist!

In previous articles, we’ve highlighted Child Stars and dedications to the youth, but in closing of May being Child’s Month, we’d like to remix a series. A couple years ago, we highlighted the offspring of some famous names in Reggae/Dancehall in a 5 part series called “Chip Off The Old Block“. It is nothing but that good Reggae music from DZL Records that will rise you above all the madness. Consider this EP the medicine you enjoyed taking, even when you weren’t sick. The only results from this overdose are nothing but good vibes and a peace of mind. Dancehall Artist Voiide has been on the grind these past few weeks. On the mission to be heard for 2018 and beyond, he shows listeners the various styles to his art. Today we feature his latest single, “No Sunshine“. Produced by Van-Clive and featuring Rushae, Voiide shows how dark it can get in the country when it comes to not having easy access to a better way of living. The harsh reality anywhere is that when there is no love, and pleas fall on deaf ears of those in power, some people will do whatever to survive. “No Sunshine” is just one of many singles Voiide plans to flood the streets with this year. The years that followed however found him not getting the right hits, and a decline in the buzz. Fast forward a few more years his name started bubbling back on the scene in the form of his songwriting contributions for a couple Artists which converted into hits.
