Today’s mixtape comes from Jamaican DJ, Fifty and it promises to be a great one. Titled “Eazy Medz Oldies Jugglin‘”, this is a throwback reggae mix of some of the best songs from the 1990s. Featuring hits from Beres Hammond, Junior Tucker, Abijah, Chalice, Luciano, the late Garnet Silk and many others. This mix is so awesome for some of these songs brought me back to my childhood, especially the opening track (Dance Hall Monic by Chalice) and the Garnet Silk selections. Titled “We Know” and produced by Hanif Chito of Kimichi Records, he sings about uplifting the youths as he sees many being oppressed and he promises that once they’re doing good works they’ll never be left behind for they shall grow and overcome it all. Today’s mixtape comes from U.S. based DJ Journee. Titled “Rolling Mix” and hosted by Jamaican Rapper Five Steez, this a collaboration with Jui-Jitsu/MMA apparel company CTRL Industries and the DJ. College Access is an Entertainment and Promotions company located in Kingston and Manchester in Jamaica. This month they have chosen to venture into films and to kick things off they’ve released the “Twisted Series“. In today’s episodes they feature 4 young men, a young a lady and her violent boyfriend with a few extras along the way. Here 3 men are caught in a rough situation with the other characters and how they handle it is a rather humorous one. We need more local stuff like this. Just watch and be entertained.
