In recognition of Shaggy’s 20 year anniversary of his “Oh Carolina” hit, I thought I might give you all the original version. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from The Folkes Brothers, the original artists behind the “Oh Carolina” single. The Folkes Brothers comprised of John, Mico, and Junior Folkes. Produced and released by Prince Buster in 1960, this is a love song where the artists are here urging Carolina to come back into the lead singer’s life after having bouts of sadness and loneliness.

Vybz Kartel seems to be the hardest working deejay in Jamaica right now, jail can’t slow him down. Today a new music video is released. Titled “Ever Blessed” and directed by BDB Media Group, we hear Zip 103 FM’s ZJ Chrome introducing the single while a lovely lady dances in her room to it for the entire video. No Vybz Kartel stunt doubles, just a young lady who seems to be the one who owns the “Ever Blessed” property and is waiting for the World Boss to come home. NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews Steffani Walters

It’s always great when Jamaicans can go to anywhere in the world and make their families, country and themselves proud. Today on Onstage Winford Williams interviews the lovely Steffani Walters. Here she announced that apart from doing Reggae music, she has signed on to be a part of the Broadway version of The Lion King cast in Germany. She also spoke on the details and duties in her role as a member of the Lion King cast and her career as a Reggae Artist. Short but nice interview, I do wish her the best and she started in Jamaica.
