PRESS RELEASE: Vybz Kartel’s “Fever” Rises

Just a few days after the release of Fever, the first single from Vybz Kartel’s “King of the Dancehall” album, the accompanying video has already amassed over 300 thousand views on YouTube. The video was directed by Jay Will/ Game Over who creatively conceptualized the masterpiece.

The video is a raunchy, sexy one that brings the words of the song to life. The lead girl in the video suffers from uncontrollable heat in her dreams, bringing on a “fever”; when she awakes she is feverish and covered in sweat. No doubt the video will continue to grow in popularity, as comments are pouring in by the minute.The song Fever comes as an instant gratification when someone purchases “King of the Dancehall”, which was made available for pre-order May 6th exclusively on iTunes.

Distributed by Zojak World Wide, the album will be available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers on June 3rd, the same day  the third instant gratification track, ‘Colouring This Life’, will be offered in the iTunes store. Apple Music will offer exclusive streaming one week before the album is available for download on June 10th , a service usually reserved for major label artists.

“King of the Dancehall” contains never before released tracks from Vybz Kartel, all recorded by the prolific artiste before his incarceration.  The album is a collaborative effort between Adidjahiem Records/TJ Records. Over the years Vybz Kartel has created a strong following with his creative and ingenious lyrics and he shows no signs of slowing down now.

JahRomie XO is showcasing his versatility with his latest single, “Baby.” Dubbed as the bedroom anthem for the summer; “Baby” plays on the senses with its alluring and sensual lyrics that leaves a lot to the imagination.

When asked what the inspiration was behind the single, he stated, “I just felt moved to create something for the ladies. Something stimulating to the mind and body.” JahRomie definitely didn’t fall short of his goals with 1000 views on YouTube since its debut three days ago and, still climbing. It’s evident that JahRomie is pulling out all the stops to ensure his fans all across the board get a taste of what he has to offer, and so far he’s been getting great feedback. “Yeah man, I’ve been getting a lot of love for this single. I’m always confident about the music I put out but I didn’t expect it to get as much positive feedback as it has been so far”.

There’s something to be said about an artiste that can flex his lyrical muscles and still appeal to the wider audience. “Baby” is for sure poised to be on the lips of the ladies this summer; so don’t be too surprised if you hear it playing on the radio, everywhere you go. JahRomie XO, is the artiste to watch for 2016. PRESS RELEASE: @RR_Musiq: The New Naughty Girl In Dancehall

Usually known for her sultry collaborations and modest style, Renee Reid popularly known as RR (pronounced Double R) has shocked her fans with a new ‘steamy’ video with Devin Di Dakta. The collaboration, ‘Rev Out the RR’, is produced by Christopher Birch for Birchill Music and on the ‘Moscato Riddim’ and has turned many heads resulting in her fans branding RR as ‘The New Naughty Girl in Dancehall’.

The single has been receiving support locally and internationally and has become a notable collaborative effort. Manager for both artistes Shelly-Ann Curran of John John Music Group is also very excited about the success of the single and the newly released video. She shared, “I ampleased with this collaborated effort and I am very happy to have signed RR to my label. She is a perfect fit. For those who know me well I am very picky when it comes to who I manage but I see a very bright further with her”.

RR is known for major collaborations such as ‘A Dat Yuh Wah’ featuring Sizzla and ‘Crazy in Love Remix’ featuring Mavado. She is now eager to journey further into dancehall; she said “Devin’s style is very hardcore but I bring the sexy side of dancehall and I love it!” When asked about working with Devin Di Dakta she described it as “an easy and memorable task”.

“An anthem for those working through the hardships of life” and “Real lyrics!” are just a few words some people have to say about this single entitled “Workers Anthem” created by upcoming Artiste, Yaksta Carvanie.

Hailing from the lush Parish of St. Mary, Yaksta Carvanie is no stranger to the hardships of life. Being one of five children grown in less than ideal conditions and limited finances with a strong and dedicated single mother; he found his solace in writing music. He would often find himself immersed in his thoughts, writing lyrics throughout the night till sunlight to elude his difficulties. Continuing this practice throughout his teen, it’s no wonder that he was able to perfect his skills and put out a single that not only speaks to the everyday man and woman in the “struggle” and are “hustling” to stay afloat, but a single with a powerful, encouraging and effective message. When asked about why he felt the need to pursue this musical journey, he was quoted, “I am music incarnate and I’ve given up on avoiding my destiny”.

It is safe to say that Yaksta Carvanie is out to make an imperishable name for himself. “Workers Anthem” embodies the raw realities of the working man and undoubtedly makes it clear that their hustle matters and a better life is just beyond the hill. With its catchy Dancehall beat and relatable and conscious lyrics, this single off his EP, Stoic Torture – a unique blend of Reggae and Dancehall beats, released on March 10 of this year, produced by Sasaine, under the management of Murdamuzik, is bound to be an anthem that withstands time. It’s not hard to believe that you’ll be putting this single on repeat after you’ve listened to it the first time. Recently, popular Canadian Media Personality Nardwuar Interviewed the “6 God” Drake, and friend and longtime Producer Noah “40” Shebib. Filmed in Toronto, Canada a.k.a. “The 6ix“, Drake and 40 shared with Nardwuar some aspects of their backgrounds including growing up and 40 and Drake’s first record, “Views“, their influences including the late Rapper Biggie Smalls, Common, the Houston, Toronto, and Memphis Hip Hop scenes, and the Reggae/Dancehall including acts like King Tubby, Mavado, Popcaan, and Vybz Kartel. Drake also mentioned having conversations about Vybz Kartel’s music with fellow Artist PartyNextDoor, and being a fan of King Tubby’s music. It’s an hour long video, so be sure to tune in.
