Pay Attention is a bi-monthly Hip Hop concert series that is held in Kingston Jamaica that promotes the Jamaican Hip Hop culture. This event featured many well known acts including Five Steez, Sly Rankin, Kabaka Pyramid and Acmatic. In efforts for upcoming or established acts to be a part of the movement there are certain guidelines that need to be met. Ciara’s “Body Party” has been a popular single in recent months and today Jamaica’s BNJMN released his remix to the hit song. Titled the “Body Party (BNJMN Greezy Remix)“, the MikeWillMadeIt instrumental is swapped with a BNJMN production and the vocals are chopped up at various points. This “Body Party” just got a little more intense, all we need is a video remix to go with it. A really great effort here and should be pleasing to anyone who listens to it. Today’s new music comes from a Jamaican One Man Band, Scotty + The DreamKillers. Titled “Keep It Rocking” and features a production from JLA, this features a great Michael Jackson sample (Rock With You) while Scotty raps about chasing his dreams, never slowing down on his work, pushing on despite challenges and keeping it rocking. A great effort here and being a Michael Jackson fan I love this production. For clarification, Scotty + The DreamKillers is really a One Man Band where “Scotty” is the rapper and “JLA” is the producer. Armed with speedy flows and slick rhymes is deejay Jinyus with his new mixtape. Titled “Fast Lane“, Jinyus brings us a 11 track compilation that will show to impress many. Featuring a couple feature verses from SOS Dynamikz and Deewunn and remixes over “Look At Me“, “Mercy” and “Type Of Way“, this “Portmore King” has what it takes to keep up with the best of them. Hip Hop in Jamaica continues to rise with the emergence of new artists who aim to hang with the best of them. Off his new EP “Been A Minute“, Rapper ChronDon released the visuals to his freestyle over Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever” single. Directed by Creezay YGF, Chron hangs out with his friends and drops some bars over the instrumental. ChronDon has been doing his thing for a while and is definitely one to look out for. “Strictly Jamaican when you see me spark“.
