.@BobMarley & The Wailers Get Sampled On New @Migos Album, “Culture 2”!

In case you weren’t aware, the Trap Music trio Migos released their highly anticipated “Culture 2” Album a few hours ago. Featuring 24 tracks, fans are in for a treat as Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset are here to give you that fix. While the Album features the singles “Motorsport“, “Supastars“, and “Stir Fry“, a familiar sounding set of vocals can be heard in track 13, “Crown The Kings“. If you guessed right, the legendary Bob Marley & The Wailers has been featured on the Album in the form of a sample. Borrowing from the 1973 track, “Get Up, Stand Up“, the chorus can be heard throughout the production which was handled by Quavo and DJ Durel. “Get Up, Stand Up” was written by Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, and featured on The Wailers’ 1973 Album, “Burnin’“. Various versions of the song have been recorded by Marley, Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. It has also been covered and remixed by the likes of Tracy Chapman, Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Shaggy, The Rolling Stones, and has even been parodied on an episode of “Futurama“. “Culture 2” is available now on all streaming services.

Rapper Chance a.k.a. Kans has been working. With tracks like “Chill Suite“, “Appreciation“, and “After Tonight” making their way to many, it was only a matter of time before he unleashed a project. Making sure his 2018 gets a good start, Chance presents his “Indelible Colours EP“! Featuring 6 tracks and contributions from the likes of Rosh Rebel, OneLoveTheo, Lee, and Daley, Chance is dropping music for those who like to chill, for those who are about the fast life, and of course for the “Gyallis Pros“. A project that should build a vibe and give you the feeling like you’re on the 40th floor of a high rise building in Miami. Get Caught Up With @KansHTG On His New Single, “After Tonight”!

After giving listeners a fun single last year with “Chill Suite“, Recording Artist Chance kicks off his 2018 with the single, “After Tonight“. Produced by L. David and features Singer Lee with additional vocals, this is kind of a follow up to “Chill Suite” as Chance gets caught up in a lil affair that has moved from a few flings behind the backs of their partners, to feelings getting caught and drama brewing. We all know the game, but we also know there will come a time where things change for the better, or the worse. While we got highlights of Chance prepping his “Chill Suite” Music Video that’s hitting the Internet real soon, he’s also putting the finishing touches on his EP, “Indelible Colours” that will be released on January 6. We’re also unveiling the Artwork for the EP that was done by the talented KokaBZD! Check out the track below!

2017 Faves: @Protoje – BLOOD MONEY (#1)

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Ending our list today is the one they call “Diggy British“, Protoje with “BLXXD MONEY (a.k.a. BLXXD MONEY)”! Produced by Winta James and released in February, Protoje sees red as he calls out Corruption, Classism, Injustice, and those who practice it in Jamaica. From Government leaders to those names in high places, Protoje starts a revolution, and wants you to be a part of it. Protoje never watched no face when rinsing this tune this year as he has painted the scene red at Festivals, Radio stops, and even at the recently held Prime Minister’s Youth Awards Ceremony. 2017 Faves: @LenoBanton x @TheRoyalBlu – Meanwhile (#5)

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Starting at #5, is “Meanwhile” by the duo of Recording Artists Leno Banton and Royal Blu. Produced by JLL, the track was released in March and features the Artists going bar for bar, and pound for pound like two Heavyweight contenders in the ring. With a mix of lyrics, flows and melodies from the two, it would’ve been nice to get a collaborative EP from them next year (hint hint). Artwork provided by Paige Zxmbie and Khari Kamau. It’s always a good time when friends can get together for the Holidays and enjoy each other’s company. For Recording Artists Farruko and Bad Bunny, it’s all about the Kush when they call up Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott for the Music Video for the Rvssian produced “Krippy Kush Remix“! Directed by top Director Eif Rivera, the Artists go from moving bricks of the Kush, recreational smokes with friends, to a stand off with the Police. With Nicki Minaj (who plays dress up in this visual) and Travis Scott’s (who replaces 21 Savage) contributions to the remix, just play this at a high volume and watch the results. Big up to Producer Rvssian who has been making major moves in Latin America. 2018 promises to be even bigger when he unleashes some surprise collaborations.
