The ladies are gonna go crazy for this one. If you’re a follower of Dancehall Artist Konshens, you know he always has a fire tune for the ladies. Recently, he released a bunch of them via a project titled, “Raw“. With 14 tantalizing tracks, the temperature will definitely climb even in the coldest of spaces when this is played. What will open the flood gates however, is track #9 “Say My Name” featuring Dexta Daps, another Artist who keeps the ladies on cloud 9 consistently. Produced by Dre Day and SOS Dynamikz (a lil about him here), the duo are competing for the #1 spot for the ladies, as they know what they do to ensure the women come back for more. Dancehall & Reggae Music continue to influence many worldwide whether through the various sounds, lyrics, or even some of the people who create from the genres. Today’s entry is no different as famed Hip Hop Producer 9th Wonder dabbled in a bit of the sounds in his latest compilation album, “Jamla Is The Squad 2“! While the album features a host of tracks for every flavour, it’s the opening track that will surprise and awe many. On “Welcome To JamRoc“, the opening vocals come courtesy of Dancehall Artist Quick Cook, while the following production samples Damian “Junior Gong” Marley’s “Welcome To JamRock“, and Ini Kamoze’s “World A Music“. With 9th tackling the production, Rapsody, Heather Victoria, GQ, Reuben Vincent, and Ian Kelly provide the lyrics that go well with the dope sounds. This isn’t the first time 9th sampled Jamaican music as he borrowed sounds from The Mighty Diamonds on the tracks “L.A.” and “Bad Man” by MURS, and Third World on the track “Let It Go” by Little Brother. Titled “Pretty Potion“, if you know Vybz Kartel’s run you’d know he always had some tunes locked and loaded for the 4th quarter holiday season. Produced by Vybz Kartel Muzik, Kartel will have the ladies slow wining to this one while they get their Instagram videos and captions ready. While many will question Addi’s ability to record during incarceration, the fans will be keeping this one repeat until it hits a few million views. DJs, you’re gonna need this track, get familiar! If you were under a rock for the past couple weeks, Dancehall Artist Spice dived into the sea of controversy and had the people talking. With a skin bleaching stunt to promote her black positive single, the Deejay and now Reality Show Star topped it off with the release of her latest Mixtape titled, “Captured“. Since the releases, Spice has been a never ending topic to discuss. While all that is well and good, what probably slid under the radar for many, is she gave us another side of her musical prowess to enjoy, singing in Spanish! On the track titled “Fiesta“, Spice gets into some Latin production and delivered! While the mixtape featured some of her usual arsenal, this unique entry is one that should garner numerous repeats. Ricki is a very unique Artist, and that’s the reason why she was added to our list of Female Artists to watch this year. If she isn’t around a few canvases, or perfecting her “drip“, she’s penning some crazy lyrics to fit the sounds that approach her. Recently, as a part of her roll out, she delivered a double dose of music videos namely “Bless You” and “Pesos“.

On “Bless You“, we find Ricki presenting herself as a walking canvas as she dons various outfits, and gets very colourful throughout. With Troy Baker’s production handling her lyrics, you will very blessed upon consuming this presentation.

On “Pesos“, Ricki delves into some Trap Dancehall vibes as she switches up the flows (and languages) over some hard hitting Troy Baker sounds. The video, which was directed by Dennis Brown Media House, finds Ricki counting up the moula and delivering some “bad gyal” vibes, while we get a bit of dancing thanks to Tara Tehrebel and Tashine Hinds of Versatile Ones. Give Ricki the lane, and she’ll be sure to take advantage of it.
