Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Recording Artist Jaz Elise is making her way up to becoming one of the bright stars on the music scene. With her career only starting recently, she has impressed with first few releases. We’ve featured her as one of the Artists to watch out for in 2019, and recently we had a lil chat. Without further ado, GET TO KNOW Jaz Elise below!
13thStreetPromo: Thanks for taking the time out to have a quick chat with 13thStreetPromotions.com. We’ve heard and enjoyed the tracks, but for those who don’t know, who is the Singer named Jaz Elise?
Jaz Elise: I am just a girl who decided to take a leap of faith less than a year ago to do music for a living. I love singing, wholeheartedly. It brings me a joy, and I’ve found that the best way I can reach people is through my voice. I am fully born and raised in Jamaica also.
13thSP: When did you realize you could have a career in music? How did you get your start?
JE: I have always been singing (church, school etc), but never really took it seriously. I was mainly empowered to only do a 9-5. My exposure to the arts however empowered me to really see a career being a Recording Artist. I really got the calling and courage to do it as a career a few years ago and that’s when I started going to studio, and did a few singing gigs all while still being in school. Encouragement from my friends and family as well as a personal conviction really pushed me to decide to do it as a career though. I would say when I released my first single (“For You“) in November 2018 that’s when I decided to go full force into it.
Over the past weekend, many people got to witness “The Energy God” Elephant Man representing for Dancehall music and bringing a massive charge to Reggae Sumfest 2019. With hits aplenty, and the ability to move the crowd, Ele left Montego Bay with one of the more memorable nights of the 2 night festival. Today, we pay tribute to Elephant Man. Inspired by our 2017 Article, we present to you, “Elephant Man – King Of The Refix” Playlist!
With nearly 6 hours worth of singles along with the original tracks covered/sampled, Elephant Man knew how to take the lemons given to him, and make a Lemonade of hits! With over 20 years in Dancehall, Ele won’t find his energy fizzling out anytime soon. All hail the “Energy God“!

It’s a Canada/Jamaica link up as Recording Artist Melxdie teams up with the “Gully Gad” Mavado on “Girls R Better“! With the track produced by Christopher Birch, Thomas Tasker, and Eb Reinbergs, it’s a mix of that “Gullyside” sound that you’re used to along with Melxdie’s poppy delivery that’s an enjoyable listen. On the track, Melxdie makes the statement that girls are a better company to keep, and will aid and motivate you, while Mavado agrees and shows love to his #1 girl who stays loyal to him.
The video that accompanies “Girls R Better“, is a Damian Fyffe directed visual that finds Mavado being targeted by the Police thanks to a snitch, but Melxdie holds it down for him. In the end though, snitches meet their end in the worst way. How’s Mavado’s acting? Shoutout to all the number 1 girls! Check out the video below, and share with a friend. Rise up, and listen to some good music! You’ll love today’s entry as it comes from Recording Artist Blvk H3ro! A few months ago he released his debut album, “The Immortal Steppa” which has been receiving praise and numerous spins worldwide. Today he keeps the momentum going with the visual for one of our favourites off the album, “Superstition“! Directed by Alexandre Hostein (who also produced the track and designed the single’s artwork) and shot in St. Andrew, Jamaica, viewers are treated to a retro styled visual filled with old school fashion (styled by Osunya Rose), video clips, herb, and a vibe that’s unmatched! If you’re not rocking while watching this, go see a Doctor. Blvk H3ro continues to show off his unique style, and that’s why he can be found in campaigns rocking gear from Levi’s and Carhartt.
Be on the look out for Blvk H3ro this summer as he’ll be making appearances at various events performing tracks from his album, and of course some of your faves. If Stevie Wonder could see this video now, but we know he’d be rocking to this Reggae remix! When you believe in things that you don’t understand, then you suffer, Superstition ain’t the way!
