First off, let us wish you a Happy New Year! 2020 may have been terrible for many of us, but it’s a blessing to see a brand new year filled with possibilities. Make great things happen in 2021.

Keeping up with the brand, we start the year off with brand new content! Today, we’re happy to premiere Producer/Recording Artist Kris Karz’s official visualizer for his 2020 track, “HEARTBREAK“! Directed by Karz (Dylan Golden handled the editing) and featuring the lovely Sara Jade, Kris finds himself in a bit of a relationship problem. For some, there can be trust issues, miscommunication, and even insecurity. While Kris may be feeling the stress from some of the unnecessary arguments, he ensures his lady that he’s all about her, and she should stop stressing over nothing and hurting herself in the process.

Kris Karz has been pretty busy behind the scenes for most of 2020, but with a new project on the way, he is gearing up to keep the Internet occupied with some of his new creations through his Kngly Studios imprint. Power Book II: Ghost has been doing well since its debut earlier this year. With members from the original Power series making moves along with new characters, the action and drama have not pushed viewers away. Along with the storyline comes some great music. Earlier this year we highlighted that Lady Saw’s “Strip Tease” was featured in the debut episode, and today, New York based artist Alex Mali makes an appearance through song in the 8th episode with her MeLo-X featured track, “Hoity Toity“.

Produced by Ninease and released in 2017, is a feel good track that captured some Island vibes, was a great fit for the summertime, and was made for the bad gyal dem! We had the pleasure of featuring its official music video that you can see here. The track was featured during a scene between Tariq and Effie (played by Michael Rainy Jr. and Alix Lapri respectively) as they handled some business (and pleasure) together. Canada based Singer Jay Heart has been steadily climbing to become a prominent name in the new generation of Caribbean talent. With a few singles to his name, he felt it was time to make some big moves in his career. One of those is putting out his first project in the form of an EP called, “Timeline“.

Armed with 5 tracks, Jay Heart believes the release was a result of good timing. Having started on the EP in 2019, the vibes were just not right to make the project official, and he was having some personal challenges. Quarantining as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic prompted him to step up the work ethic, and after putting together nearly 30 songs, he settled on 5 for the EP. With love and relationships of all sorts being the main topics on the project, Jay Heart utilized familiar references for the songs, and delivered them in ways that will have the listener’s full attention over and over. With strong production from Noah Hamilton and Hunter Madden, “Timeline” didn’t go wrong with the sounds to accompany Jay’s carefully crafted lyrics. “Timeline” marks the start of more great things to come from the artist, and 2021 may find him being on the radar of some big names.

Justice The Artiste Steps Out With The “We Want Justice!” EP

2020 saw many artists stepping out of their comfort zone, or even making their debut. Overall, many of them provided great music for us to enjoy. Justice The Artiste tries to find a balance between making music that he loves, and keeping his Christian faith intact. Representing the new crop of Jamaican Christian acts who step away from the norm, we get to hear his new project, the “We Want Justice!” EP.

Featuring 4 tracks and a guest appearance by regular collaborator Kyxgston, Justice The Artiste gives listeners a dose of Christian Hip Hop with lyrics filled with motivation, spirituality, positivity, a little social commentary, and all around good vibes. Backed by some great production that borrows from Trap, Pop, and Dancehall influences, WWJ promises to be an entertaining listen, nothing like you’ve heard before, and will have you wanting to hear more.

The Christmas season is one that brings people together, and a lil more love is shown. Unfortunately for this year, Covid 19 made sure we don’t get to be around many of those we love. It’s also a time where many loved ones are missed, whether family members or close friends who passed away, someone missing that significant other for one reason or another, or just a situation where a loved one is unable to be present. For the sad times however, we just have to celebrate as if they’re still around. Recording Artist Naomi Cowan knows a thing or two about this, and today she covers a classic on her latest release.

Taking us back to 1994, Naomi Cowan covers Mariah Carey’s classic, “Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)“. Featuring production from Tessellated and CircaEleven, Naomi gives us a beautiful take on the Carey hit with her signature vocals. Accompanying the track is a visualizer directed by JP Williams and shot at Stush in the Bush in St. Ann. The original track was the second single released from Mariah Carey’s “Merry Christmas” album, which features the timeless classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You“. If you’re missing someone during the holiday season, let Naomi’s lovely vocals put you at ease.

Relationships are hard, no matter when people say otherwise. There will be conflicts of some sort, but if there are genuine feelings in it, there will be resolutions. For Recording Artist Joby Jay, she deals with a “Headache” or few in hers for her latest single.

Produced by 3Keyz Records, Joby Jay shares the emotions she experiences in a challenging relationship. It’s never easy when a partner can be difficult, but Joby shares that she loves and needs him in her life, but the conflicts can take a toll. Sometimes people can be difficult, some need a smack on the head, but some people just need a chance to do and be better. Many will relate to this track, and Joby presents it in a great way for easy listening. Shout out the couples that are going through it.
