NEW MUSIC: @ActionBronson x @MeyhemLauren x Jah Tiger – Mr. 2 Face

Recently, US Rapper/Chef Action Bronson took to a trip to Jamaica. Known for his love of the Jamaican music, food and culture, he filmed an episode of his popular “F**k That’s Delicious” series there. During his time here, he also recorded a few tracks including today’s “Mr. 2 Face“. With guest appearances by fellow Rapper Meyhem Lauren and Reggae Artist Jah Tiger, Bronson and Meyhem traded bars while Jah Tiger breathed new life into an old track (unsure of the date he recorded it). An interesting collaboration from the trio as they mix Hip Hop with some good Reggae and deliver a chill vibe. You can catch Bronson, Meyhem and Jah Tiger in the latest episode of “F*ck That’s Delicious” on Viceland this week. • Kristine Alicia comes from a musical family and is a classically trained pianist.

• Gospel Reggae star Nigel Lewis produced Kristine Alicia’s first album Get Ready which put her on the map in the Gospel genre.
• Kristine toured with top reggae gospel artist Papa San as a backup singer

• Kristine Alicia is inspired by the following singers Sade, Jill Scott, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Beres Hammond, Luciano, Marcia Griffiths, Tessanne Chin, Jesse Royal, Eyrkah Badu and Alicia Keys

• Kristine Alicia’s accolades includes (2) two Marlin Awards – Best New Artist and Best Vocal Performance (Jehovah Jireh)

• Kristine Alicia has performed throughout the Caribbean and North America, but her biggest show to date was headlining the 2015 Groove Party in Nairobi, Kenya in which she performed to over 30,000 people.

Kristine Alicia’s second single “Hand Over River”, produced by Rory Stone Love, is scheduled for release April 22nd, 2016 on iTunes. Until the release of the track, Kristine decided to give fans a taste of the single in an acoustic style.

NEW MUSIC: @Phlowetry – Reputation (Remix)

Straight out of Lagos, Nigeria, is Hip Hop Artist, Phlow. Here she delivers a remix to her single “Reputation“. Produced by Teck-Zilla, this features the Rapper dropping bars over a sample, drum and horn assisted production. The samples however, come in the form of vocals from Recording Artist Barrington Levy, Reggae Artist Johnny Osbourne’s 1982 single “In Your Eyes“, and Rapper Lauryn Hill’s “Lost Ones“. Bringing elements of Reggae really made this single pop as the original featured a sample from Jay-Z’s “Where I’m From“. Chip Off The Old Block: Meet The New Kids Of Dancehall x Reggae (Pt. 5)

First they started out as the youth of the Dancehall/Reggae culture, now they’re parents with growing kids. It isn’t unusual for the child of an Entertainer to follow in their parent’s footsteps one way or the other as at times they bring a modern take on their parent’s creations, or create their own lane. Some of the most famous off springs include Stephen, Ziggy, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley (Sons of Bob Marley), Chino and Di Genius (Sons of Freddie McGregor), Junior Tucker (Son of Jimmy Tucker), Morgan Heritage (Children of Denroy Morgan), Tarrus Riley (Son of Jimmy Riley), Queen Ifrica (Daughter of Derrick Morgan), Protoje (Son of Lorna Bennett), Chronixx (Son of Chronicle) and many more. In part 5 of a few part series, I feature more of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.

Recording Artist Jahmiel has been very consistent with the tunes in recent times. With hits under his belt, he’s working his way to becoming the MVP for 2016. Today, he premiered his visual for the “Where Were You / Great Man“. Directed by Mamaz Boiz Films, this visual comes in the form of a short film featuring Jahmiel, his friends, and of course a “Bad mind Producer“. From a scenario where he was rejected by said Producer to performing on Onstage to being interviewed, Jahmiel visually tells his story of his rise to stardom. A good concept here and this is only the sample of the greatness that’s to come from Jahmiel. Look out for his upcoming project with Quantanium Records.
