Bugle & Nation Boss for 13thStreetPromotions.com

.@BugleAn9ted Teams Up With @1NationBoss On “Experience”

Renowned Reggae/Dancehall Artist Bugle announced earlier this year that he would be releasing a new album for 2021. Titled “Toxicity“, it would follow his widely praised “Picture Perfect” album from 2019, and give us some of the quality music that we’ve come to know from Bugle. He recently caught listeners’ attention with the title track, and is bound to hold them captive with the follow up single, “Experience“.

Produced by Evidence Music and featuring emerging Artist Nation Boss, Bugle and Nation share their various encounters in life where they have been wronged. Despite their challenges in life, they present motivating lyrics for the people to know that there is better ahead as pain is temporary, but greatness lasts forever. The combination of the two Artists may be a contender for one of the year’s best as they both deliver strong lyrics throughout. Nation Boss found a hit with his single, “Humans“, and hasn’t looked back since. Bugle’s “Toxicity” album is set to be released on October 22.

Usain Bolt and NJ release the "Country Yutes" album on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #UsainBolt

The “Country Yutes” @UsainBolt & NJ Made An Album!

He dominated Track & Field, and he became a global Icon, and a household name. Usain Bolt has done what many aspire to do in a short amount of time, and he’s from Jamaica! Now retired, he sought to dabble in music, and has seen some success. He takes it a step further with the release of the album, “Country Yutes“.

Featuring his friend and collaborator Nugent “NJ” Walker, “Country Yutes” shows that everything Usain Bolt touches, will eventually turn into gold. While there are naysayers who doubt his foray into music, you can’t deny that the party boy will make songs for people to enjoy. He brought a few friends (“Bibi” Gardner, Kamal Evans, Jae Xo, Karanja Nelson, and NJJ) along for the ride, and gave us 14 tracks. Usain Bolt is not the first Athlete who fell into the music lane (“Bibi” Gardner is a Footballer), and that line is a long and historic one. You know the Schweppes, Bolt is bringing the A-Team Lifestyle to your speakers. Here’s to hoping he makes a small return to the other track as he’s missed over there (crossing fingers).

Lee "Scratch" Perry's "People Funny Boy" from 1968 on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #LeeScratchPerry #Reggae

OLDIES SUNDAY: Lee “Scratch” Perry – People Funny Boy (1968)

Today, the world has lost another Icon. Today, the LEGENDARY Lee “Scratch” Perry has transitioned to the big street dance in the afterlife. He is not only the “The Upsetter” or the “Super Ape“, but he is the FATHER of many styles that you have grown to love. His creativity knew no bounds, and his catalogue is unmatched. The “Mad Genius” breathed life into the careers of many, and we will honour him. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection showcases that he has BEEN the legend, even when he was in conflict. Today’s selection is “People Funny Boy“.

“People Funny Boy” was released through Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Upset Label in 1968. This was Lee’s first major single, and it featured the use of Sampling (a baby crying), something that is widely popular today. While notable for those, this was also a diss track aimed at the late Producer Joe Gibbs whom Lee had disagreements with. Lee was recording with Gibbs at the time, but they fell out over finances, and Lee would share some of his grievances in the song in a way listeners would easily relate to. This was Lee’s second track of its kind as he also had conflict with the late “Sir Coxsone” Dodd in 1967, and released a diss track towards him called, “Run For Cover“. “People Funny Boy” saw Lee selling 60,000 records, and helped to bring his name to various circles. He would go on to have an amazing recording and production career for decades filled with unique moments and milestones until his sudden death earlier today. Remember the GREAT Lee “Scratch” Perry, an Icon forever!

thank you lee “Scratch” perry. Sleep well.
