Taking it to another Caribbean Island this Oldies Sunday. The selection comes from Trinidadian artist, David Rudder. Titled “High Mas (Give Praise)” and produced by JW Productions in 1998, Rudder brought the church to the Mas (Masquerade). With great backup vocals and a energetic Calypso production, the song was done as a prayer asking for guidance during the Carnival season in Trinidad & Tobago.

Today’s mixtape goes out to all the revellers. Trinidad’s Shane Talon released the fifth volume to his “Wuz De Scene” series. Here he mixes over 2 hours of 2015 Soca hits to get you ready for the Easter weekend, and the next Soca event. Always a great mix from the DJ I’ve always said has every single Soca song known to man. Time to get on bad by checking out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

It’s a Caribbean and Harlem linkup today on this “Black Friday” with ASAP Ferg, Bunji Garlin repping Trinidad and Spice repping Jamaica. Titled “Jolly” and produced by Corey Maor, we hear the three acts bringing the street dance to the “‘Hood” with ASAP’s raps, Bunji’s Soca chants and Spice’s bad gal Dancehall lyrics. A fun effort as the hook would encourage fist pumping whether you’re a Raver, a “‘Hood fellow” with liquor in hand or a “Bad gal”. Off Ferg’s newly released “Ferg Forever” Mixtape which is hosted by DJ Drama, get your cup of Jolly Ranchers ready. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Accurate! Today’s mixtape comes from the collaboration of Trinidad’s Lion Twin and Jamaica’s own Kabaka Pyramid. Titled the “Kabaka Mixtape“, this is a compilation of strictly Kabaka Pyramid singles and dub plates. Fans of the Bebble Rocker will add this to their collection and I like that this has a live feel to it. If you’re able to catch Kabaka on his European tour, play this before you hit the concerts to get extra pumped up. Check out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
