Earlier today, U.S. Rapper Fabolous premiered his Thanksgiving Mixtape, “Summertime Shootout“. Produced by Sonaro, this features Rapper Rich Homie Quan and listeners were treated to a back and forth between both artists. What listeners didn’t expect though was a closing display of deejaying from Dancehall Artist Konshens. Over the Hot Wax Riddim from the 90s (big up Franz for the reminder), Konshens left a memorable mark on track 7. A bit disappointed that he wasn’t credited on the tape. Fabolous’ Mixtape is now available on Datpiff but you can check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
(We’re a little late this week 😦 )
Lifestyle Blogger ShannyDeLioness is back for another week of “Mixtape Rave“! This week she serves you an array of Mixtapes she’s been feeling over the past 7 days. If you missed the previous installments, check them out here.
This Mixtape was the perfect trip down memory lane for an 80s baby like me. It brought me back to the good old days of listening to Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg while driving around Kingston with my Uncle.

Recording Artist I-Octane has been making moves lately. With a successful ongoing tour and new endorsements, he took time out of the excitement to hop on Adele’s “Hello“. With assistance from Seanizzle, Octane addresses “Badmind” on the phone about its constant attempts to derail his life and career. With Jah by his side, he proclaims that badmind can’t hold him down and encourages listeners to strive for success. If badmind is on the Caller ID, send it to voicemail. If you’re a listener of Dancehall Music, then you’ve heard the name “Shabba Ranks” before. One of the greatest Dancehall Artists that ever stepped on stage, we’ve called him “The Grammy Kid“, “Emperor Ranks“, and “Big Dutty Stinking Shabba” to name a few. As child he was one of the few Deejays I’ve looked up to, when he dropped music videos and stage performances I was glued to the TV screen despite my family complaining of how “slack” his music was. Today, on Oldies Sunday I present to you a few of his songs, and the singles that have sampled/paid tribute to him. What are your favourite Shabba Ranks singles? Let us know in the comments section. Let’s go!
(1) Bedroom Bully (1992)

Busy Signal – Bedroom Bully (2012)
(2) Trailer Load a Girls (1991)
