On January 25, 2014, Jamaicans were treated to the staging of “Pay Attention“, a Hip Hop concert series held at Club Indulge (South Beach Cafe). Hosted by The Sickest Drama, performances included The Rush, K John, Five Steez and Kabaka Pyramid. I’ve previously posted about the event but today The Gleaner has released a video of the event and interviewed the performers who spoke about the Hip Hop culture, Pay Attention, and how Jamaican Hip Hop is on the rise. It’s the Rebel and the Nuh Behavior King! D.I. and Kiprich have joined forces to make a very sexual single. Titled “Hear The Pree” and produced by Clean Money Music on the “Clean Money Riddim“, we hear Kiprich and Danielle making plans to spend some time together and get very sensual. Very sexy song by the two but is 2014 the year we hear more collaborations from them? Looking forward to more. She loves unruly guys and he loves bad gals. After premiering the remix last year, Lady Saw and Flo Rida finally released the video treatment for their collaboration. “Heels On (Remix)” was directed by Evan Winter and shows alot of sensuality between various couples while Saw and Flo tell you how they want to love and be loved. A great effort here as the video has a white, gold and black theme to go along with the sensuality. Will Lady Saw make another banger like “Heels On” this year? With a mix of Reggae and Hip Hop comes the collaboration between Hip Hop duo Smif-N-Wessun and Jahdan in the form of a lyric video. Titled “Kamikaze“, a single off Smif-N-Wessun’s Reggae inspired “Born and Raised” EP, they speak on how they live their everyday lives while Jahdan handles the hook duties over a Reggae tinged instrumental. Not a bad effort from the artists, hopefully they release a real video for this single. Smif-N-Wessun aren’t new to the Reggae scene as they’ve collaborated with Bounty Killa under the moniker “Cocoa Brovaz” for the classic “It’s A Party“.
