PRESS RELEASE: @GullyBop1000 Arrives In The UK For First Tour

“Body Specialist” deejay, Gully bop is now settling down after a long flight to the island of Great Britain. This marks his very first trip outside of his homeland, Jamaica. “ Well them say me never a go make it at Jamworld. Say me can’t pass Christmas to the New year, but who God bless no man curse,” Gully Bop reasoned as he dismissed naysayers upon arrival at the Gatwick Airport.

His first offshore performance is set for this Saturday at Club Diamond in Luton followed by Scala in King’s Cross, London on Sunday. Gully Bop remains in England for the remainder of March. In April he commences concerts throughout the Caribbean, before he jets off for dates in progress for Europe, the USA and Canada. Gully Bop formerly known, as Country Man has been an aspiring dancehall artiste for decades. His Frenz For Real produced single that propelled him to dancehall’s mainstream, “Body Specialist” is still running charts in the U.K. and other territories. Currently he enjoys the success of several singles such as “Bad Like We”, produced by Claims Records that recently peaked at #1 on iTunes Reggae Chart. He has over a dozen other singles that are now in rotation across the globe: “Roun’ Here”, “Drop Mi” FT Imari, “Life Too Sweet” FT M-Gee, “Miss Goldie” and “Gully Wine” among others. Rags To Riches his debut EP is set for release this summer.

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from “The Son Of Selassie” a.k.a. Max Romeo. Titled “Chase The Devil“, this was produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry with backing by “The Upsetters” band in 1976 for Island Records. It was also a single included in Max’s 4th studio album, “War Inna Babylon“. The song brings forth a “Good conquering evil” theme where the Devil is being a negative force on Earth and when Max dons his Iron shirt, he will fight the Devil and send him to outer space. Max later explained that the Devil is everything negative in our minds and the Iron shirt is our strength of spirit that allows one to cast out the Devil.

Since announcing his new deal last year, Deejay Teflon has been pretty busy and on Onstage he speaks on that and more. Here he spoke on making new music and videos, lecturing, wanting to elevate music to another dimension, bring the “New King”, premiering his “Talk Dem A Talk” video, not having a huge beef with I Octane, and urging listeners not to misjudge him. He also performed a couple songs for the audience. Teflon has been steadily keeping the fire burning and plans to reach more people this year.
