The “Unruly Boss” Popcaan has been staying pretty busy this year. Whether he’s dropping Dancehall hits or International collaborations, many got an earful of his music, and the output won’t be stopping anytime soon. Having enjoyed Billboard charting recently with his “Fixtape“, he looks to do it again with Toronto artist, Preme (formerly P Reign). Following up his “Light Of Day” debut album two years ago, Preme teams up with Popcaan for their collab EP, “Link Up“.

Featuring 6 tracks and released through Preme’s RepsUp label, he and Popcaan bring Island influences and sounds, and the best of their respective worlds. With production from Jaegen, Amir Jamm, 1Mind, LondonOnDaTrack, Beat Boss and others, the Hip Hop/Dancehall mashup got a good selection of beats to cruise on. With features from Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, BEAM, and DaVido, you’re in for a fun project that you’ll be playing over and over. From the Island of Barbados that has boasted great talent like Alison Hinds, DJ Puffy, Rupee, Jus D, and Rihanna, Recording Artist/Producer Shaí Bascombe looks to take his place among legends. Having been involved in music from a young age, he started taking it seriously just over 3 years ago. With a few singles and 2 projects to his name, he looks to elevate his career with the release of his 3rd project, “Naomi“.

Consisting of 11 tracks, Shaí Bascombe doesn’t hold back with the creativity. Producing the lion’s share of the album with contributions from Kenty J and Hasnai Eli, Shaí takes Trap, Hip Hop, Pop, and R&B influences to create something that’s unique, and has listeners taking a trip through his experiences, dreams, and creativity. Recording Artists Jah Koda and Ch’an make an appearance on the album, and did well with their respective features. For those thinking the Caribbean music scene is limited, artists like Shaí Bascombe is a rising movement that has been changing the way you hear the music.

The Trap Hip Hop movement has been a huge influence since its debut over a decade ago. In recent years, it has touched the Jamaican music scene, and lent some of its influence to the Dancehall and growing Jamaican Hip Hop movements. With artists like Aidonia, BakerSteez, Tommy Lee Sparta, and Rygin King showcasing different styles, newer artists like Rxp Flo stepped up to bring more strength to the new Jamaican Trap movement. Recently, he took his career to the next level with the release of his debut EP, “Trap Island“!

Consisting of 4 tracks, Rxp Flo has been on the scene building a buzz and collecting a steady following in the process. The release of his EP shows that he’s about business, and will not stop till he’s one of the top artists doing it. It has been a easy road, but he is determined to make it. The EP features production from Metro 17 and Riot Records. “Making this EP helped me realized that not everything will go your way, it doesn’t mean you should give up though. Always move forward regardless,” shared Rxp Flo. “I had lots of down time while working on this EP, but I was at my happiest when I was at the studio writing and recording. I made new friends along the way, but I’ve also seen people I considered friends show me their true colours. These experiences helped me put together a great project, and I wouldn’t change a thing because I was given lessons on patience, dedication, and learning to make my own moves.

Chase Soundz has been staying consistent within the past couple years. Having dropped track after track, he’s still working his way up to becoming one of the respected lyricists out of the Jamaican Hip Hop scene. He takes a big step today with the release of his debut EP, “BearWithMe“.

Loaded with 4 tracks, Chase Soundz is still dropping clever bars, and tackles unique production from D’Artizt, Blu Majic, blutop, and Brokeboi. As a member of Heightz To Greatness (HTG), he recruits a feature from Daley who didn’t disappoint with the bars. A taste of what to expect moving forward from Chase Soundz project-wise, you might hear him tackling Dancehall/Reggae sampled production on the next go around. Producer Wavy Jones, who has been one of the folks doing his part in ushering in a new wave, has been steadily making his sounds be heard in various parts of the world. Today, he invites you all to experience a dose of “Sine Energy” from his new EP.

Released through In Good Company and comprised of 6 tracks, Wavy Jones creates a space for for some beautiful sounds paired with some individuals who stand out when they express their art.
