NEW VIDEO: @MajorLazer x @BusySignal_Turf x @TheFlexican x @FSGreen – Watch Out For This (Bumaye)

BusysignalMajor

Today we’re taken back in time, 1993 to be exact thanks to the team of Major Lazer, Busy Signal, The Flexican and FS Green. Titled “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)” and directed by Jay Will, we see Busy Signal deejaying while dancers show off the top dances of that year. Check out the Cross Colours gear, the boots and jewelry. There are also cameos from Chronixx and Mystic. Very nostalgic, look at the trends from 20 years ago. I see that dancer paying homage to the dancer “Bruk Up“. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @Protoje – I & I

Off the newly released “8 Year Affair” album Reggae singer Protoje released his music video for “I & I“. Directed by I & I & I (i’m guessing Protoje directed this), we see him and a few friends walking the streets and spreading messages and pamphlets out to people in efforts to help them learn about Marcus Garvey, Walter Rodney and Haile Selassie I. This video features cameos from Jah 9, Kabaka Pyramid, Chronixx and many others. As described by Protoje this was more than a video shoot, it was also a march that done in collaboration with author Dutty Bookman. Nice video, very clean quality and the song and idea were good ones. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

This evening’s new music comes from Reggae artist Chronixx. Titled “Smile Jamaica” and produced by Silly Walks Discotheque on the Honey Pot Riddim, Chronixx uses the formula where he personifies Jamaica as a woman, haves a conversation with her and encourages her to smile. Lovely song, it’s a feel good song from the young artist. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Another artiste that was away from the Jamaican music scene for a long time was “Fire Wayne” also known as I-Wayne. Winford Williams managed to have the singer on his show to discuss a few things. Here I- Wayne spoke on his absence from the Jamaican music scene, his performances at Sting 2012 and Rebel Salute, his personality, his style of music, his thoughts on Chronixx, and his wishes for the music fraternity.
