@DamianMarley Shares His Thoughts On Dancehall & More On @EbroInTheAM

The youngest Veteran Damian “Junior Gong” Marley recently stopped by Hot 97’sEbro In The Morning” Radio show. Hosted by Ebro, Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg, Gong spoke on his “Distant Relatives” collaborative album with Rapper Nas still being popular today, the Marley name still being a strong one, starting his own Medical Marijuana business with Ocean Grown Extracts, sharing his favourite songs from his father, his thoughts on Dancehall music today, being an advocate for the legalization of Marijuana in Jamaica and more. While “Distant Relatives” is still a popular album along with his solo albums and Ghetto Youths International compilations, I know fans are just waiting for the next solo project from the Gongzilla in January. Stay tuned. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @Wayne_Marshall x @TheCham x @AceHood x @WakaFlockaBSM – Go Harder

WM

After dropping the star studded “Go Hard“, then another with “Go Harder“, Dancehall artist Wayne Marshall finally dropped the visuals for the latter. Directed by Jon J. Visuals and features Baby Cham, Ace Hood and Waka Flocka, the video shows the artists dropping their lyrics in a warehouse setting with girls dancing to the tune. Damian Marley also makes a cameo appearance in the video. Not a bad effort here, the video has a dark feel to it however. Still not a fan of Waka’s verse but will look out for the next time he collabs with another Jamaican artist. Wayne’sTru Colors” project is on iTunes now. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Mixtape Movements: @ZealousPikin Presents: The Lion Boy EP

Bringing a dose of Reggae music straight from Johannesburg, South Africa is Singer, One Zeal with his new EP. Titled “The Lion Boy EP“, One Zeal compiled 8 tracks about love, serving Jah, and bringing social awareness to where he’s from. After listening this EP, one would know that the power of Reggae inspires and brings out the best in anyone, no matter the location. I like that he used Damian Marley’sWelcome To JamRock” instrumental and my top tracks so far are “Beware of August“, “Ms. Confidence” and “Holy Is“. Great selection for those who want to check out Reggae music in another country and I’m looking forward to more from this artist. OLDIES SUNDAY: @ThirdWorldBand – 1865 (96 Degrees In The Shade) (1977)

After a long hiatus, Oldies Sunday is back!

Today’s Oldies Sunday entry comes from the Reggae Band, Third World. Titled “1865 (96 Degrees In The Shade)“, this was a single of their 2nd album of the same name which was released in 1977 on Island Records. In the song they sing about the Morant Bay Riots of 1865 which resulted in the death of 400 blacks during the riot and 350 more through hangings which included National Heroes Paul Bogle and George William Gordon. The line “96 Degrees In The Shade” suggests the temperature on that day, real hot!

NEW VIDEO: @DuttyPaul x @DamianMarley – Riot

UntitledReady to start a riot is the duo of Sean Paul and Damian Marley. Releasing the video to their “Riot” single, we see both artists deejaying their message amongst decay and havoc made by riot starters. Very clean video which was directed by Jon J and a great effort from Sean and Damian. That guy with the dreads and gold teeth looks like he was born to cause havoc (lol). Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
