Random: The Bus Ride And The Belt Salesman

Not the actual salesman…

Hey BlogWorld! Got a story to tell, i’ll do my best here…

So this afternoon (Friday Oct. 26, 2012), I travelled on a bus from Mandeville to Christiana as a part of running a few errands. While the bus driver did his best to drive all over Mandeville in effort to elude a Police Officer on a bike who wanted to give him a ticket, I was greeted by a rather peculiar character who took passage on the bus. His first statement was to the tune of, “Come inside, let’s all take a bus ride” (I forgot what he actually said..), the other was, “Unno pack tight like Sausage, nuh block up the passage…” He went on further to make up many rhymes during our bus ride which lasted around 20 minutes. Every conversation he kept with us passengers turned into a witty rhyme, even when we were eluding the Police Officer he taunted him with a clever rhyme much to our entertainment.

NEW VIDEO: Mega Banton x G-Loc x Singer J – Jamaican Badman Style

It was a matter of time before Jamaicans got a hold of this. THIS is the REFIX! Fresh off the wildly popular Oppa Gangnam Style song which was done by Korean rapper PSY (Yes, he is a rapper…), deejays Mega Banton, G-Loc and Singer J created a remix/refix of the hit. Dubbed “Jamaican Badman Style“, this version was redone with Dancehall “badman” lyrics. The video wasn’t anything spectacular but good to see these three artistes on the scene again. Haven’t seen Singer J in years, anyway check out the video above and share your feedback in the comments section.

Swade Reviews: @FiveSteez – War For Peace

In a music industry where the best Dancehall artiste of the last and current decades is locked away from the world and artistes are either attempting to win fans over with a new sound or copy from what sells, there’s one Jamaican rapper that aims to prove to the world that his brand of Hip Hop music is worth many replays. Five Steez is currently the best Jamaican hip hop artiste that you’ve never heard of…until now. Armed with lyrics that promotes consciousness and paints pictures of his surroundings and experiences he has faced, he doesn’t sell you bad man dreams and demon wishes but instead gives you that raw rap.

POLL: Best Dancehall Beefs (Clashes)

Dancehall beefs/clashes are fallouts between popular artistes (Even Companies/Groups are joining in the fun) resulting in lyrical confrontations, and fans choosing sides adding more fuel to the fire between parties. Sometimes these matters are handled on the stage (for example Sting), the streets with the help of gangs or even lawsuits in court. Do you have any favourite clashes/beefs? Many of them have made their way on to mix cds, radio stations, and even Youtube and becoming major hits worldwide. Many careers started and ended through clashes/beefs. After thinking about the most famous (and necessary) beefs, I put together a poll below for you to vote for the best ones. If I missed any please let me know in the comments section.
