Matt Dewar has been working his way up to be heard. Armed with a melodic delivery and ability to adjust no matter the subject matter, Matt could be the next Artist you keep on repeat. Having performed at “New Breath” last year and “Imprint” recently, be sure to catch him performing sometime soon. Happy Friday folks! How about some new music? Today’s new Artist comes from Reggae Royalty, and her name is Shav-A! Daughter of foundation Recording Artist Admiral Tibet, she has been on the grind in recent times including releasing her 2018 single, “I Need You“. To start off 2019, she goes International as she teamed up with French Recording Artist Orti on “I Need You (Remix)“! Produced by Don Charles, Shav-A and Orti give us some Dancehall Pop vibes here, but the track leans towards “AfroDanceMusic” thanks to its multi-genre inspired production. For those who yearn for their special someone to get home, keep this one on repeat till that phone call comes through, or the knock is at your door. “It was fun making “I Need You”, and when I did the remix with Orti, it was a walk in the park and definitely a track that I know you will love,” said an enthused Shav-A when asked about making the remix. “Orti is very talented, and I look forward to working with him again and other International Artists.“

With Shav-A’s sound, she will definitely be an Artist to watch out for this year as she steadily carves her own musical path. Featuring 6 tracks and released through the Good Forever imprint, Beth’Marie showcases a unique sound as she tackles on various subjects throughout over production provided by Young Trix. OLDIES SUNDAY: Abijah – Revelation (2001)

Happy Sunday folks! Today we’re keeping the same 2000’s energy on “Oldies Sunday“! Today’s selection comes from Reggae Artist, Abijah with the single, “Revelation“! Produced by Mikey Bennett and released through Matluk Music in 2001, the song finds Abijah showcasing spiritual and prophetic lyrics as he spoke about pending wars and injustice that ravishes the world, and calling on the Lord. A near miss of death and a dream were the inspiration for this song as Abijah was within inches of a stray bullet during a shootout while living in Vineyard Town, St. Andrew.

After the release of “Revelation”, the song quickly became a hit and placed Abijah as an Artist to watch. The song spent 30 weeks on the Jamaican Music Charts, and found him performing in various locations around the world. “Revelation” was also featured on his 2003 “Abijah” album, and various Reggae Compilations shortly after. In the time that followed since the single’s release, Abijah went on to release more music, and perform with the likes of Tevin Campbell, King Yellowman, Nadine Sutherland, and Beenie Man with whom he remixed “Revelation” with. “Relevation” went on to be Abijah’s most recognizable track that he still performs to this day.
