The “Trelawny Son” Charly Black continues to make his star shine even brighter with no dimming anytime soon! From scoring hit songs and collecting plaques, he now adds performing on one of America’s biggest Daytime Talk Shows to his list. Touching the stage on the Wendy Williams Show, Charly performed his monster single, the DJ Kurt Riley produced “Party Animal“. The single, which was released in 2015 on the Jambe-An Riddim, has managed to score 100 Million streams on Spotify recently, a milestone for the Dancehall Artist. With his name continuing to make marks Internationally, Charly will be keeping busy this Summer as he’ll be performing at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2017, and recording numerous International collaborations. Summer Is Here As Jimmy Cliff & Bunny Wailer Classics Get Featured In New @CoronaExtraUSA Ads!

Beer and Reggae seem to go hand in hand, do they? Recently, the Mexican Beer Brand Corona unleashed another Summer campaign which includes limited edition Beer cans. In the new Commercials, which highlights Sun, Sea, Fun, and Beer, Reggae Artist Jimmy Cliff’s 1972 classic, “You Can Get It If You Really Want (Get It Here)“, and Bunny Wailer’s “Cool Runnings” are provided as the theme songs. “You Can Get It If You Really Want” was released by Island Records and featured on the soundtrack to the cult classic “The Harder They Come (Get It Here)“. It was originally sung by the late Desmond Dekker in 1970 but Cliff recorded his own version for the Film. The single is no stranger to being used commercially as it was featured in “Speed 2: Cruise Control (Rent/Watch Here)“, and was used during election times in Nicaragua and Britain. Bunny Wailer’s single was released in 1981 through the Solomonic Label and was featured on his 8th Studio Album, “Rock ‘n’ Groove“. An original member of “The Wailers” along with the late Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, “Jah B” (affectionately called) is also a 3 time Grammy winner and is considered one of the “Gatekeepers” of Reggae music.

Corona used the late Hopeton Lewis’ single “Take It Easy” in their previous campaign. Check out the new ads below.

Talisa Taylor, Executive Producer of “The Release” said, “Our initial chart showed local and International videos that were trending online but we wanted a chart based on facts,”. After premiering the single earlier on Sway In The Morning thanks to Jillionaire, the Trini Viking Bunji Garlin unleashes “Television“. Produced by Jillionaire (Major Lazer/Feel Up Records) and Richie Beretta, Bunji takes it to the club with this Soca/EDM crossover that promises lots of feel good moments. With a Bass heavy production with TV channel changing effects, you may need a trip to a cold room after raving to this hot track! I can imagine the visuals for this will be crazy. We do it easy. See It Deh TV is a new Jamaican Comedy series to hit Television and Online. Starring Tony “PaleFace” Hendriks, Carla Moore, Dr. Mikey Abrahams, Kathy Grant and Ricky Rowe, viewers will be treated to hilarious skits, commentary, and songs covering Social, Political, and Cultural topics. See It Deh TV premieres on April 3 at 9PM with the season ending on May 22 on TVJ (Television Jamaica). Great to see fellow Blogger Carla Moore back on TV, and “PaleFace” as I was a fan of his “PaleFace Point Of View” series on CVM TV years ago.
