Jamaican Twitter Pays Tribute To Ian Boyne!

Monday December 18, was a sad day for many as news came of the passing of celebrated Journalist/Author/TV Host Ian Boyne. Tributes poured in and showed how loved and respected he was as he made contributions to not only Media, but his impact on the lives of everyone who has watched his work, had a conversation with him, or was even granted the opportunity to be interviewed by him on his various Programmes (Profile, Issues & Answers, Religious Hard Talk to name a few). One area where the tributes came in yesterday was from Social Media platform, Twitter. From colleagues to those who grew up on his work, they spoke on his influence on their lives, having aspirations to be interviewed on “Profile”, and even jokingly pictured him conducting “Profile” in Heaven. Months ago we featured “Chill Suite” by Rappers Daley and Chance. Since then, they have been working on pushing the single out there more. More recently however, they’ve been working on a Music Video for the single and we have some Behind The Scene flicks courtesy of Romario Lynch a.k.a. “Seen By Lynch“. With the finished product seeing an early 2018 release, we get an idea of what’s to come including beautiful women, chill vibes, and some Island flavour as the video was shot in Portland. “Chill Suite” is available here, but you can see some photos below!

@DenaiMoore Releases Short Film For 2nd Album, “We Used To Bloom”

Jamaica Born/UK based Singer/Songwriter Denai Moore released her sophomore Album, “We Used To Bloom” earlier this year. Featuring her dose of inspirational and therapeutic sounds, many sung its praises and caught Denai’s live performances since its release. Something that enables many to love the music more is the behind the scenes, and Denai satisfied that sector with the release of her Short Film, “We Used To Bloom“. While she shares her experiences, viewers get a BTS look at her creative process including getting the lyrics together and assisting in putting the sounds together. Since the Album’s release, Denai has been showing up at various locations delivering work, and even catering to your taste buds thanks to her Vegan based Supperclub, “Dee’s Table“. “We Used To Bloom” and its remixed version are now available at all your favourite Digital Music Retailers. Season’s Greetings! We’re back with another Holiday themed Oldies Sunday! Stepping in with a selection is the one and only, Media Personality/Activist/Dub Poet/Author Mutabaruka! We go back to the year 1983 with “Postpone Christmas“! Produced by Earl “Chinna” Smith, this was released through the High Times Label. In the song, Muta speaks on those living pay cheque to pay cheque, poverty, those spending more than they earn, crime and violence, and calls for the postponement of the season until things are better. He puts the spotlight on issues that still affect many to this day and around this time of the year. Not your typical Christmas song, but something to think about. Overseas based Recording Artist Voiide has been on the scene for quite some time giving listeners a dose of his Dancehall and Hip Hop influenced sound. Recently he made some noise with his latest single, “JEFE“, and today he adds the official Music Video to the roll out. Directed by ShotByGod, Voiide speaks on his way of life in terms of how he handles friendships, business, confrontations, and the ladies, and he cannot be easily swayed to change as it’s in his genes. The track was also produced by Smitty Links. With his DMS Way (Different Mind State) movement, he seeks to make his presence felt even more in 2018 as he plans to release more music covering various themes. “JEFE” the single is now available on all Digital Music Retailers including Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music.
