Today’s entry comes from Filmmaker Marcus Bird as looks into the life of Jamaican Hip Hop a.k.a. “YardCore“. Recording footage from the Yardcore Cypher event that was held on sunday January 13 in Kingston Jamaica, Bird highlights some of the best in the business dropping lyrics bombs. Artists included Five Steez, TSD, Nomad Carlos and TMO. For those who missed out on the event this video highlights some of the energy that was given there. Slated to be premiered in 2013 is the music video for JYungg’s hot single “Sinner’s Prayer“. The video will be done under the collaborative directions of Canadian director G. Dot and Lamar Clan Production. The following video shows J Yungg being shot in various scenes including a church and club filled with lively patrons. Cameos for the video include Krish Genius, DJ Absolute, and Anita Baker of Elite Models. Looking good so far, JYungg i’m going to need a bottle of Hennessy though. Titled “Unbreakable” and produced by Base Beatz, Kapri raps about his talents and his determination to make it in the industry. Not a bad track, good choice in beat too. OLDIES SUNDAY: King Yellow Man – Zungguzeng (1982)


Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from one of Dancehall’s foundation artists and the most popular albino artist, King Yellow Man. Titled “Zungguzungguguzungguzeng” (Yes LONG name), it was produced by “Junjo” Lawes on the “DiseasesRiddim a.k.a. “Mad Mad Riddim”. Yellow Man showcases his rhyming abilities all while stating he shouldn’t be taken for a child. The rhyming style is reminiscent of the toasting rappers used to do at parties in the 1980s.
