PRESS RELEASE: Jamaica Set To Stage Paradise Lost, 1st Major EDM Festival

Contrary to the beliefs of many, Electronic Dance Music (EDM)’s roots started in a small Caribbean Island named Jamaica. On March 2016, the Island will host its first major EDM Festival in the parish of St. Ann. Named “Paradise Lost”, this is a 3 day Festival featuring performances from 6 of Billboard’s Top 20 DJs, and 19 of its Top 100 DJs. Produced by Caribbean TransMedia Limited and the creators of the popular “Electric Zoo”, the chosen venue for the Festival will be at the Grizzly Plantation Cove, Richmond Estate in St. Ann. With the venue spanning 135 Acres, the Festival expects to accommodate up to 75,000 patrons over the course of 3 days. With the “Spring break” season in effect, the Festival would be perfect for the Spring Break crowd locally and abroad, and fans of the EDM genre who need to be at the next major event.

According to the Event Organisers of Paradise Lost, the Festival will be able to provide more than 2,300 paying jobs and 200 Internships over the span of 7 months. In their vision of the event, it is expected to rake in over JMD 5 Billion dollars in year one, with consistent growth in the following years. With this being the first Festival of its kind in the Caribbean, they hope to achieve this prospective success and more. With the Island’s mission to reclaim EDM, the event promises to reintroduce fans to the genre, contribute to Jamaica’s economic growth, increase Tourism for the “Spring Break” season, and be the next big event in the Island for years to come.

Mixtape Movements: @LarzDeadline Presents: Bare Vybz

With September 30 marking 4 years since Vybz Kartel’s incarceration, it’s no surprise that his music is still dominating the Dancehall circles and radio. Today, DJ Laron of Deadline Sound created a Mixtape in tribute to the “World Boss“. With 44 tracks in, listeners will add this to their collection as this is filled with hit after hit from the Gaza General. While many scream “Free World Boss“, they can use this as an addition to their chants. Check out the mixtape below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @Jamie___XX x @PopcaanMusic x @YoungThug – Good Times

After blazing the airwaves and the streets for months, there is finally a visual for Jamie XX, Young Thug and Popcaan’sGood Times (I Know There’s Gonna Be)“. Directed by Rollo Jackson, we see Jamie getting the crowd hype with the single in one location, Young Thug vibing in another, and Popcaan chilling on a balcony. Nice visual, while I like the placements of “Good Times“, I was disappointed in not hearing Popcaan’s verse in this. What I’ve found out recently is that this single has been featured in the soundtrack of NBA Live 16 so big ups to the “Unruly Boss” on the achievement. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @MajorLazer x @ElliphantMusic x @JoviRockwell – Too Original

Dropping off another video from their “Peace Is The Mission” album are the likes of Major Lazer. Titled “Too Original“, which is directed by Tim Erem and features Jovi Rockwell and Elliphant, we see lots of dancing, food being prepared, drinking and a good time all housed in a small restaurant. Nice mashup of Ska and Dancehall with the Major Lazer sound! Great to see Jovi Rockwell in the video too and of course Walshy Fire’s Clarks!
