First they started out as the youth of the Dancehall/Reggae culture, now they’re parents with growing kids. It isn’t unusual for the child of an Entertainer to follow in their parent’s footsteps one way or the other as at times they bring a modern take on their parent’s creations, or create their own lane. Some of the most famous off springs include Stephen, Ziggy, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley (Sons of Bob Marley), Chino and Di Genius (Sons of Freddie McGregor), Junior Tucker (Son of Jimmy Tucker), Morgan Heritage (Children of Denroy Morgan), Tarrus Riley (Son of Jimmy Riley), Queen Ifrica (Daughter of Derrick Morgan), Protoje (Son of Lorna Bennett), Chronixx (Son of Chronicle) and many more. In part 5 of a few part series, I feature more of the new set of kids on the scene whose parents have covered much ground in their respective careers.

Toronto based chanteuse, Sielle, has collaborated with Sean Paul on her recent release entitled, “Easy Mistake”. Laced under a heavy dancehall crossover rhythm, Sielle’s silky voice delivers smooth lyrics, melodies and harmonies. Interwoven throughout the record, Sean Paul rides the rhythm with catchy hooks and verses. The synergy between Sielle and Sean Paul is a chemistry designed to make a world hit.
Produced by hit-makers, Matthew “Esco” Thompson; 957 Muzik and Smokin Acez Media, “Easy Mistake” is an appealing tune that will have the summer buzzing. The song, written by Sielle, captures a love story based on a couple engulfed in a steamy relationship. Captivated by her man, Sielle wants to make amends. But she must move on, because love becomes a burden. She knows that loving him is such an easy mistake, yet Sean Paul tries to sway her direction. Easy Mistake is a record that most people can relate to.
From the age of 5, Sielle has been trained in classical music and attended performing arts schools. Her passion for music led her to produce, write and perform, honing her own sound. This has allowed her to claim a presence across different genres of music to include pop, reggae, folk, classical, opera, and R&B.
Growing up in Little Burgundy, Montreal and being exposed to a plethora of cultures, Sielle is bilingual and sings in French. She has performed at Nappa Valley’s Bottlerock Festival 2014 and in 2015, where Jim Peterik featured her on hit song Eye of the Tiger. She also did Montreal Reggae Festival two years in a row, smaller festivals and clubs throughout Canada. Previously released songs, include Little Girl, Change You, Runaway and Together which was penned by the legendary David Pack of Ambrosia.
Although Sielle’s sound is characterized as alternative soul; this collaboration has allowed her a chance to tap into her Jamaican roots to deliver a masterpiece. “I want to touch people with my music, my music is a dairy, what I feel, what I have been feeling throughout my life,” explains Sielle with hopes of changing lives through her music.
However, working with Sean Paul on “Easy Mistake”, has had a major impact on Sielle. This collaboration has allowed her to go into her Jamaican roots with all of her life’s experience as an artist to deliver a masterpiece. The goal is to propel into the international market that is ready to accept another musical star named Sielle.
Many thoughts Tanto Blacks’ fire would fizzle out years ago, but with new slangs to revive his career, he bounces back with “I’m Back“. Produced by PushAYute Records on the “Rebound Riddim“, Tanto lets the streets know that he’s the same Tanto that had everyone saying “Bluetooth” and “Twiddurr“, and he wants what is owed to him. With his recent trip to Canada, it seems Tanto is bouncing back harder than before. Real Rich! Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
The music scene in Canada is just one big melting pot. With influences from Hip Hop, Pop, Reggae, EDM, Afrobeat, and Dancehall to name a few, it’s not a surprise when your favourite act knows the lingo from your music culture. Today, Nemesis, Rizzlaa, and Chillaa are all about their dream girls, mainly Rihanna. Titled “Bad Gal Like RiRi” and produced by Chillaa, we hear them speak on the qualities their ideal women should have and are on the hunt for her. If you’re listening and you fit the criteria, why not give them an @. This single was also featured recently on Major Lazer’s Radio show, and on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. Rihanna had “Navy” Twitter in a frenzy when she released her 8th studio album, “Anti“. With a first single featuring Drake titled “Work“, Acmatic’s own Plateface decided to add some touches to the Boi1da produced track. Here he gave it a more Dancehall feel to compliment Rihanna’s delivery. This version sounds like something that if Rihanna’s people are watching (crosses fingers), they could use in a Jamaican street dance themed music video. Loved the original?
