@OriginalShyne Speaks On His New Transitions With @OnstageTV

Hip Hop Artist Shyne has been through a lot these past few years. From being a top Rapper on the Infamous Bad Boy Records, to serving part of a 10 year Prison sentence, to converting to Judaism, he now looks at resurrecting his music career and even dabble in Politics. During the Reggae Sumfest festivities he visited Jamaica, made his presence felt, and held a conversation with Winford Williams of Onstage TV. Here he reflected on his past, working with DJ/Producer Supa Hype, his upbringing, his Father Dean Barrow, Prime Minister of Belize and looking to follow in his footsteps in Politics, showing love to Vybz Kartel and Buju Banton, and more. He also joined Barrington Levy last night at Reggae Sumfest and delivered his hit singles. In part 1, he introduces himself to the world in “Meet The Artist“. Here he spoke on his background, his inspirations and favourite Artists, how he has developed his sound, thoughts on the Jamaican Hip Hop movement, performing in Jamaica and New York and breaking barriers, preparing for recording sessions, plans for 2016 and more including new music and other projects! Filmed in Toronto, Canada a.k.a. “The 6ix“, Drake and 40 shared with Nardwuar some aspects of their backgrounds including growing up and 40 and Drake’s first record, “Views“, their influences including the late Rapper Biggie Smalls, Common, the Houston, Toronto, and Memphis Hip Hop scenes, and the Reggae/Dancehall including acts like King Tubby, Mavado, Popcaan, and Vybz Kartel. Drake also mentioned having conversations about Vybz Kartel’s music with fellow Artist PartyNextDoor, and being a fan of King Tubby’s music. It’s an hour long video, so be sure to tune in. There are many people in the world who may not be familiar with Ding Dong a.k.a. “World Ding“, but they know his songs and dances. From “Badman Forward, Badman Pullup” to “Syvah” to “Gas“, Ding has been steadily rising in fame. Recently he stopped by the Hot 97 Studio to chat with DJ Young Chow. Here the Dancer/Recording Artist spoke on his upbringing, being introduced to the Dancehall scene by Tony Matterhorn, his popularity over the years including crafting some of your favourite dances, working on music, wanting more International acts to work with Jamaican talent, showing off dances and more. He also taught DJ Young Chow his new dance, named “Twist Yuh Foot Dem“. Good to see Ding Dong on platforms like this, let’s see how he’ll dominate this year.
