.@VoiideMuzik & Rushae Fight To Live In “No Sunshine”!

Posted on by swadedavillain

Dancehall Artist Voiide has been on the grind these past few weeks. On the mission to be heard for 2018 and beyond, he shows listeners the various styles to his art. Today we feature his latest single, “No Sunshine“. Produced by Van-Clive and featuring Rushae, Voiide shows how dark it can get in the country when it comes to not having easy access to a better way of living. The harsh reality anywhere is that when there is no love, and pleas fall on deaf ears of those in power, some people will do whatever to survive. “No Sunshine” is just one of many singles Voiide plans to flood the streets with this year. The track is also available on iTunes/Apple Music (Get it here). For now, check out the track below, share with a friend, and follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

We Salute Shane-O “The Comeback Artist” In Our Latest Playlist!

Posted on by swadedavillain

Good music never dies, and the Artist’s name will live forever. With his first hit song in 2004 followed by a favourable buzz, Dancehall Artist Shane-O was on the radar of many. The years that followed however found him not getting the right hits, and a decline in the buzz. Fast forward a few more years his name started bubbling back on the scene in the form of his songwriting contributions for a couple Artists which converted into hits. Capitalizing on that, he scored a few more hits on his own including the hugely popular “Partner Draw“. Today, we salute Shane-O, and present to you our latest Playlist titled, “Shane-O: The Comeback Artist“! Featuring the hits and tracks that may have missed you, we look forward to the “World Balla” climbing to higher heights in his career. We Take A “Quick Throwback” Look Into @TheKhxos’ “Watch Yuh Frenz”

Posted on by swadedavillain

Before there was Khxos, before “Dopamine“, before “If God Was Like Man“, there was Khaos a.k.a. “King Squady“. In our 3rd post in our “Quick Throwback” series, we go back to the year 2010 to hear Khxos’ “Watch Yuh Frenz” track! Produced by Kris Beatz, Khxos gives us one of his earliest songs with a message as he advises listeners to watch who you affiliate yourself with in life. He warns against fake friends who smile in your face, and stab you in the back when the opportunity arises. Since his 2010 effort, Khxos has made a couple name changes, and has created a buzz for himself thanks to various singles over the years. He is currently working on the follow up to his 2017 debut album, “Dopamine“. Stay tuned for another throwback next week!

Barrington Levy Gets Sampled On @MeganRyte’s “On & On”!

Posted on by swadedavillain

If you’re familiar with Hot 97, you’re aware of one of their personalities, DJ Megan Ryte. Recently she announced that she has signed with Interscope Records, and in celebration of her achievement, she released her debut single, “On & On“! Produced by MyBoyRoach, this blends some Caribbean vibes thanks to Tory Lanez, Hood Celebrityy, and the legendary Barrington Levy who appears as a sample. The song, which aims to prep listeners for the Summer fun and love, sampled Levy’s 1994 single “Be Strong“. Produced by Levy and released through the Lipstic Label, “Be Strong” was featured on his 1993 project, “Barrington“, and given the acoustic treatment on his Album “Acousticalevy” which was released in 2015. The song finds Levy trying to do right with his lady, but is bombarded with a lot of trials throughout. The Artwork for “On & On” was also inspired by Levy’s 2008 Album, “Teach The Youth: Barrington Levy & Friends At Joe Gibbs (1980-85)“.

While the temperature’s going up, why not give this tune a listen and get ready for Summer! Listen below, and follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
