.@SpiceOfficial Channels Her Inner Señorita On “Fiesta”!

If you were under a rock for the past couple weeks, Dancehall Artist Spice dived into the sea of controversy and had the people talking. With a skin bleaching stunt to promote her black positive single, the Deejay and now Reality Show Star topped it off with the release of her latest Mixtape titled, “Captured“. Since the releases, Spice has been a never ending topic to discuss. While all that is well and good, what probably slid under the radar for many, is she gave us another side of her musical prowess to enjoy, singing in Spanish! On the track titled “Fiesta“, Spice gets into some Latin production and delivered! While the mixtape featured some of her usual arsenal, this unique entry is one that should garner numerous repeats. A rather caliente track indeed, feel free to translate the lyrics. Want to get into more Spice? .@MrJKinggz Continues The Grind As He Releases The “30 Days EP”

Born in Saint Vincent & The Grenadines and based in Brooklyn, New York, Recording Artist J Kinggz has been on the grind and making his voice be heard. We’ve featured him some time ago with the single, “Birthday” featuring HighOnFi, but he has since followed up with the Jewelry store anthem, “Patek” with a promise that a project was on the way. That promise was kept as he released the “30 Days EP (The Life Changing Project)“. Featuring four tracks, this came together during a very serious time in his life. With freedom on the line, the best thing he could do during that time was pray and create (and he spoke it in the paperwork for this EP). With Producers such as RazsyBeats, Khalijah, and JSebastian providing the sounds for the lyrics and features from J.R.E. and DTG, J Kinggz gives listeners a bit of what’s to come as he’s currently working on more music including a follow up project. Sometimes when your back is against the wall, you just have to fight back in any way you can. Big up the Vincy Boss. Check out the EP below, and share with a friend. Nothing like getting new music, and we’re glad to deliver it to you! Today’s new entry comes from UK Recording Artist Biz as she teams up with Jamaican Producer Wavy Jones for her new single, “No Fuss“. Here she gives listeners a lil bit of Hip Hop and R&B as she speaks on being a “Ride or die Chick“, not bringing drama, and being a one of a kind girl for someone who will treat her right. She lets us in on some of her experiences in a relationship, and lets that person know that if he doesn’t act right, she’ll move on. If she’s the one you need, you have to let her know. Jones’ sampled based production on this track fits the lyrics well and definitely adds to the replay value. Imagine a video for this track. Artwork provided by the talented Romario Lynch a.k.a. “SeenByLynch“. Be on the look out for a new project for Wavy Jones in the coming months. The track is now available on all streaming platforms so get yourself a copy. Otherwise, check out the track below and share with a friend. Show us some love on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

We Salute The Legendary Sanchez In Our New “Cover Kings Vol. 1” Playlist!

Recently, Kevin Anthony Jackson o/c the Veteran Reggae/Dancehall Artist “Sanchez“, was recognized by the Government of Jamaica for his contribution to the music industry in the form of a street being renamed in his honour. “Park Lane“, off Red Hills Rd in St. Andrew, made way for “Sanchez Drive” and was met with much fanfare. We’d like to honour the living legend in one of the best ways we know how. Hitting up Spotify, we curated some of Sanchez’s greatest cover singles in the first volume of our “Cover Kings” series. A man who commanded the music scene for a few decades, your heart must be made of stone if you don’t feel these classics. Check out the playlist below, and share with a friend. OLDIES SUNDAY: A.J. Brown – All Fall Down (1987)

It’s Sunday, and there’s something we’ve missed, and that is “Oldies Sunday“! Today’s selection comes from the legendary A.J. Brown a.k.a. “The Voice Of Jamaica“! Going back to the year 1987, we check out “All Fall Down“. Produced by Peter Ashbourne and released by Busy Bee Records, A.J. gave listeners a funky number in the 2nd half of the 80’s. In the song, A.J. lets a young lady know that despite being involved with other peoples and doing all sort of activities, he knows the way to her heart every time. While she can live in a make believe world, she lets down her guard when he’s around. The song was included in A.J.’s 1988 album, “Rhyme Or Reason“.

“All Fall Down” became one of A.J.’s hits, and he quickly became an Artist to watch. The single became so popular that it was featured on the soundtracks to “The Howling Pt. 3” and “The Fourth Protocol” movies. Since then, A.J. went on to deliver more hits, collaborated/performed with some of the biggest artists out there, lent his voice to various commercials and campaigns, and was also a Judge on Digicel’s Rising Stars competition. He is also the Lead Vocalist for Reggae Band Third World replacing the late William “Bunny Rugs” Clarke.

.@LupeFiasco Tries Patois, & Teams Up With Damian Marley On New Album, “DROGAS WAVE”

If you’re a Hip Hop head, then you’re familiar with Chicago Rapper Lupe Fiasco. He has collaborated with the likes of Kanye West and Jay Z, and gave us hits like “Superstar“, “Kick, Push“, and “The Show Goes On“. Recently, he released his 7th studio album, “DROGAS WAVE” with enough bars to keep fans happy till the next project. What made this project more interesting, is Lupe tapping into some Jamaican influences here. On “Gold vs the Right Things to do“, he utilizes patois throughout, and although it may make some of us cringe, he drops some serious lines in this one to make up for it (he did a better job than these Actors in this article). On “Kingdom” he teams up with another potent lyricist, Damian “Junior Gong” Marley as they unleash more consciousness into the world. For those familiar with Lupe, this project is a great listen and has garnered positive reviews so far. If you’re new here and into lyrics, you can’t go wrong with Lupe.
