NEW VIDEO: Hop (@HopDaGreat682) – In Too Deep (Deep Cover Remake)

Today’s entry comes from Bronx based rapper Hop Da Great. Titled, “In Too Deep“, this is his remake of the 1992 classic “Deep Cover” by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. In the video we see Hop and his crew chase down a bootlegger for selling unauthorized copies of his mixtape, “The Unusual Gift“. Short but cool video, haven’t seen a bootlegger themed rap video in a while, and Hop did well over the Deep Cover beat as it is a classic. NEW MUSIC: @DaxLion – Lyrics

Dax Lion says he’s all about the lyrics in today’s entry. Titled “Lyrics” and produced by Roots Life Productions, Dax speaks on how people are easily influenced by lyrics about nothing but not reaching for lyrics of substance. He also speaks on what real lyrics should do and should be as powerful as the greats like Bob Marley. Pretty cool song, like the message. OLDIES SUNDAY: @BigShipFreddie (Freddie McGregor) – I Was Born A Winner (1992)

Now this was a record! Captain of the Big Ship Freddie McGregor makes his way on my Oldies Sunday selection today. Titled, “I Was Born A Winner” and produced in 1992 by himself and Danny Browne, this was a cover of Derrick Harriott’s 1967 hit “The Loser“. Freddie sings about missing his lady love and deflecting being called a loser, pretty great song to jam to.

NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews @RynoDiStinger

Ryno

While Sting 2012 was just a few days, the air has cleared and many questions needed answers. One of the questions involves the short fight between former Portmore Empire artist Black Ryno and current artist Popcaan. Winford Williams sat Ryno on the Onstage set to talk about the Sting incident, premiering his new song/video “Courage“, the possibility of a clash in the near future, upcoming projects and others. Personally it’s sad that it has come to this because they have been two of the top artists coming from Vybz Kartel’s crew. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
