Today, we’re looking out for those who aren’t always on top of their game. Many creatives, despite our works, some days we lack that motivation to keep on pushing. I want to share with you a jump start from an upcoming Artist by the name of Kvlar. Titled “It’s YOURS“, the Artist urges listeners to use the lyrics as a part of a conversation you need to have with yourself. “Sometimes, life can be so hard. It’s like everything’s coming at you fast, doubts and negative feelings find a home in your mind. This song came to me at a very dark period in my life. I look at this song now, as a needed conversation to have with yourself,” shared the Singer. For those that need a boost, Kvlar provides it here. A song that is quickly becoming our favourite for the month, we encourage you to share it with a creative (See ways you can share it below). Check out the track below!

2018 Predictions!
The Champagne is all done, the party favors are boxed up, and many are still hungover, but welcome to 2018! While we look forward to another year filled with new developments, we have a few predictions we want to put out there. We aren’t Nostradamus, but let’s see if the stars are aligned in Entertainment.

1. Chronixx wins the “Best Reggae Album” Grammy
With the 60th Grammy Awards coming up later this month, many Artists and viewers will be tuned in to see if their favourite will be carrying home a shiny prize. In Reggae music, we predict that the “Dread & Terrible” Artist, Chronixx, will carry home the award for “Best Reggae Album” for his project “Chronology”. This win will see him beating out fellow nominees like Damian Marley, Morgan’s Heritage, J Boog, and Common Kings! This would be a huge look for the Artist, and give the album even more attention. Maybe a Grammy tour as well? Let’s see.

2. Vybz Kartel will be successful in his Appeal hearing.
Since 2011, we’ve heard the phrase “Free Kartel!”, and it will not stop anytime soon. Vybz Kartel has more than a cult following, and it doesn’t help when he can still release songs while incarcerated. It was reported over the past couple years that his Defense team will file an appeal in the conviction of Kartel and 3 of his associates who are all serving life sentences. Despite numerous delays, it was reported that his hearing will be held in July 2018. If he wins, things might be shaken up a bit. Free Ninja Man too.
Get Caught Up With @KansHTG On His New Single, “After Tonight”!
After giving listeners a fun single last year with “Chill Suite“, Recording Artist Chance kicks off his 2018 with the single, “After Tonight“. Produced by L. David and features Singer Lee with additional vocals, this is kind of a follow up to “Chill Suite” as Chance gets caught up in a lil affair that has moved from a few flings behind the backs of their partners, to feelings getting caught and drama brewing. We all know the game, but we also know there will come a time where things change for the better, or the worse. While we got highlights of Chance prepping his “Chill Suite” Music Video that’s hitting the Internet real soon, he’s also putting the finishing touches on his EP, “Indelible Colours” that will be released on January 6. We’re also unveiling the Artwork for the EP that was done by the talented KokaBZD! Check out the track below!

OLDIES SUNDAY: @PopcaanMusic – New Year (2009)
It’s December 31, a.k.a. New Year’s Eve a.k.a. the last Oldies Sunday for 2017! While many are looking forward to partying (or praying) into 2018, we’d like to present our last entry for the year. Our Oldies Sunday selection comes from the “Unruly Boss” Popcaan, but back when he was known as the “Prefect“. Titled “New Year“, this was produced by Notnice Records and featured on the “2010 Riddim” in 2009. In the track, Popcaan speaks on what he wants to experience in the new year including achieving great success in career, being able to better himself and others, avoiding imprisonment, and doing better than ever. His aim is to see the days of being hungry gone forever, while his plans include a new House, Car, and land “fi di New Year“.

2017 Faves: @Protoje – BLOOD MONEY (#1)
As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.
Ending our list today is the one they call “Diggy British“, Protoje with “BLXXD MONEY (a.k.a. BLXXD MONEY)”! Produced by Winta James and released in February, Protoje sees red as he calls out Corruption, Classism, Injustice, and those who practice it in Jamaica. From Government leaders to those names in high places, Protoje starts a revolution, and wants you to be a part of it. Protoje never watched no face when rinsing this tune this year as he has painted the scene red at Festivals, Radio stops, and even at the recently held Prime Minister’s Youth Awards Ceremony. A tune that lifted the veil for many this year. Thank you for checking out our “2017 Faves“(see the rest here). We hope you enjoyed our selections, and we wish you an awesome 2018! Check out “BLXXD MONEY” below!
2017 Faves: @ChronixxMusic – Christina (#2)
As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.
Our second to last pick today comes from the “Dread and Terrible” Chronixx with “Christina“! The single is track #15 off his Grammy nominated debut Album, “Chronology” which was released in July. Featuring Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor as the Producer, and contribution from Blues Guitar legend Donald Kinsey, Chronixx speaks on believing in himself and working towards his dreams despite facing opposition from his then partner, Christina. The message in this is to never let anything stop you from pursuing your dreams. Leave those that doubt in the back, and move forward. A video for this would be lovely (tell Chronixx and his Manager Daddi Barnz that we have some ideas) however. If you missed our previous picks, check them out here. Hear “Christina” below!
