For others, it’s a time to discover new music, and we’ll gladly help you in discovering new Artists. We advise you to get proper headphones, great speakers, money for tickets and audio purchases, and the mindset to fully enjoy the music. Here are 15 Artists to watch out for this Summer!
*These Artists are not ranked in any way
1. Khxos

With a few years in the game, Florida based Recording Artist Khxos (formerly Khaos) has been releasing Dancehall tunes and gaining attention thanks to Social Media. He received a buzz that started to bubble in Summer 2015 thanks to the release of “One Touch”. Summer 2016 kept the ball rolling with his debut EP “Deception”, but collaborations with Andrew Trabass, Chargii, and Lincoln 3Dot helped to keep it blazing for the rest of the year. Early 2017 however saw his name change, and the release of “So Loud” and “BOMM” propelled him as one to watch this Summer as he prepares to release his debut Album, “Dopamine”.
2. Royal Blu

They don’t call him “El Fuego” for nothing, his music keeps you on your toes, and his lyrics hit like the hot oil from frying Plantains. This Artist has been quietly making his way onto the scene and has made appearances from “New Wave” to “Live From Kingston: Class 2016”, to “Imprint” to Protoje’s “For The Culture” event. His collaborations with the likes of Lila Ike, Runkus, and Leno Banton have received numerous hits on Soundcloud, and he hits the road (or Air) with Runkus as a part of the “Class Is In” European Tour and a stop at the German Summerjam this Summer!
3. Yanah

This Songstress came as a surprise this year with the release of her debut single, “So Shy”. Known as “The First Lady Of REM”, she followed up with a freestyle (Believe In You), and a follow up single titled “The Cycle”. She has also made appearances on “Smile Jamaica”, “New Wave”, “Speak”, and “7 am In Kingston”. Yanah is currently working follow up singles, and makes an appearance near you this Summer!

This goes out to all the Stoners, Steamers, and connoisseurs of the herb! Mandeville based Recording Artist DaSupreme wants us all to burn Babylon, one steam at a time on “How Yuh Mean“! Produced by DJ Crooks, DaSupreme speaks on the meaning of “steaming the herb” to him, being able to take his steam sessions anywhere, and chasing away those with a dirty heart and those who take hard drugs over a wondeful slow paced Reggae production that brings a vibe with every puff. The track appears on his debut self titled EP, and he promises that listeners will fully enjoy what he brings to the Reggae scene as he’ll cover an array of topics backed with amazing production. Check out the track after DaSupreme’s statement.
Steaming is the act of consuming Marijuana in one of its purest form; by inhaling the vapor. It has been around for many years but I was only introduced to it about seven years ago when one of my close friends started making steam chalices but in a modern and unique way. I started helping him to sell these creations by posting videos and images of these items on Instagram, and now his creations are used all over the world. Even rising Reggae star Keznamdi posted one of these one-of-a-kind steam chalices that was made specially for him on his social media. Therefore, doing the track “How Yuh Mean” was very organic to me because it has been such an impactful part of my life. As a Rastafarian, the act of steaming for me has a personal spiritual connection with a plant that is sacred to me and therefore is seen as a holy sacrament. Also, the instrumental was provided by frequent collaborator, DJ Crooks, who produced my previous 2 singles, and is also a Rastafarian, which gave the energy of the track a whole different layer. The song was written by me and recorded at my home studio in Manchester, Jamaica, while DJ Crooks mixed and mastered it.

The sample appears on the track, “It’s Secured” which features Rapper/Producer Travis Scott, and Hip Hop Icon Nas, and produced by DJ Khaled, Cool & Dre, and 808-Ray. This marks the second time the track has been sampled as it first appeared on Rapper Cam’Ron’s 2004 “More Gangsta Music” which featured fellow Rapper Juelz Santana. Digital-B Records has been a part of many successful singles from the likes of Shabba Ranks, Coco Tea, Morgan Heritage, his son Giark, the late Garnet Silk, and was the Producer of Sizzla’s “Black Woman and Child” album.
